I think Freelancer is one of the best games there is, even though graphics and stuff is a litle outdated, theres just nothing like it.
Download a any of the great mods to enhance your experience even further ( my personal favourite is MD's freelancer rebalance )

anyone else here love freelancer?

Ah yes. That is a great game, pretty hard though. I beat it once, but when I went to play it through a second time a year or so later, I had to cheat my way through
Did you play any of Star Lancer? I think its based in the same game universe, but Free Lancer is definately the coolest. Multiplayer is wicked fun too

everyone i knew who played this game told me it was something like one of the best games ever. and i also remember seeing this game on top 100 of the best games of all time lists on IGN and GAMESPOT and stuff. never played it myself but thaks for starting this thread. It really reminded me that this is one game i should put on my games to play list.

dont hate people who rip you off, cheat and get away with it, learn from them

i didnt know there were any cheats in it
I that it had some challenge, in most modern games all the challenge comes from increased enemy damage wich is quite boring

I played it and enjoyed it and also enjoyed the multiplayer. The problem with these games though is that the combat is pretty much select enemy > push joystick in direction of the arrow > shoot. What really needs to happen with space sims is the inclusion of far more massive scale objects you can fly around to make combat better.

But overall, it was a cool game. Wouldn't play it again though, for the reason above.
