After long delays, UF Option v2 is finally available. The game has been changed from 2D to 3D. The old school arcade playstyle has been mostly maintained. The game is freeware. You can copy it freely, but we request that you advise your friends to download it from our website. This way we can track how many people play the game.

Storyline
The United Federation has now been decimated and neutralized before they could threaten the Coalition. Since the last Invasion Mission four years ago, the UF has instigated several rebellious movements within the Coalition on several planets. You have been given a fighter jet to eradicate all rebellious forces. Once again it is up to you to ensure that these movements supported by the United Federation are destroyed before they threaten the Coalition. Good luck, Lieutenant.

Mission
The Campaign takes place on eight different planets. You must invade all enemy territories to Search and Destroy. A completion ratio of 90% must be achieved before advancing to the next level.

Quel, what Operating System are you running? Did you unzip the files before running the exe?

Edit--Anyone else having the same or similar problems?

Just XP, games with TGC products tend to run, not counting some which just doesn't come up at all, but i have never seen this error message before.

I tested the on some Windows 7 boxes and it worked okay. Also worked in XP mode in Win 7. Guess I'll try it on my old XP box to see if I can duplicate the error.

Works for me on XP SP3. You should really fix the bullet speed as it sometimes looks like I'm using bombs!

Well, maybe i'm gonna update my XP, since i currently have a freshly installed one. Though would seem a little strange for me if some security fixes counted that much.

Does GDK games maybe need some Microsoft specific needs like Visual Basic dll's or something like that in the system folders?

@tiresius

I'm trying to track it down. It seems to work fine in the Debug executable but not in the Release executable.

@Quel

Try getting DLL runtimes from this location: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3

I've done some updating already. It is now at version 2.1.

- Removed some dbSync() calls as it was causing crashes.
- Increased player bullet size.
- Put the camera closer to the action.
- Fixed a texture issue with the tank mesh.
- Misc. code cleanups
