Hey guys, this site is one of the best there is to fully learn how to use 3d studio max. Its really underused though. http://www.traptcg.com
you have to register to get access to the resources but once you do its great

I would without hesitation suggest http://3dbuzz.com and there 3ds max fundamentals course. Thats how I learned and its awesome

if you look around local colledges there might be paid corses of 3ds max apperentley its tough, but you will know 3ds max like noone else and depends on the program, you might even get certified in 3ds max which will help you get a job in the future

dont hate people who rip you off,cheat and get away with it, learn from them
