Hi guys so I spend most of the day, working on similar looking tunnels with a request for a largish rounded segment by starmind.

Rounded sections are never easy especially on this scale. At 12 x 12 X 3 the whole scene is only 5500 polygons.However round section have the major problem of how you connect other segments, so instead I beveled the corners leaving the sides intact which means I can connect straights without any problems.

Now I just have to figure out how to add detial like support and the likes.So starmind is this sort of what you have in mind?

Will have the newer tunnels screenies up a bit later.Due to the sheer size of the segment I couldn't get every thing in on a single screenshot...

Just been chatting to my neighbours teenage daughter and it turns out she's big into UFOs and aliens.

Which is cool because tomorrow she's getting abducted.

Yes sorta. I was thinking it was easier to do more like an octagon shaped room.

EDIT: Sorry the bottom pic is what I was thinking about. I saw the first one and base my thought on that.(been snow plowing all night and just got off. fluke storm brought 4 inches of snow last night)

@starmind

I will play around a bit more.How many Segments in height do you want it ? currently the top one is 300 the bottom part can be added in 1 segment height and be limit less or at least with in the bounds of the map editor...

I was thinking three segments high and not sure about the width. I made a test segment. Is your email the same?

Hi guys,

I have decided if it is not broken don't fix it....So I am sticking with the old designs and will just keep adding. I finally got a lift tube to my liking I however need to add more detail.

Will also add the large section to this one, also add a door to the t-junction and add a couple of variations there as well.

I can't say what else is on the list as I haven't planned it yet.I am hoping to add at least another 15 straights segments and a lift system for the cross junction and pending how well the large section works out, one or two of those as well..

@WizardofId:

Your creations are really spectacular - especially the way, you incorporate light objects.

If I might ask for something, then its dead-end segments for your range, which would allow to incorporate any door.

You are just nailing these segments. Very nice atmosphere, Light is great and design is original. Great Job.

Would it be possible to do long sloping corridors or curved ramps?

I can they are just extremely annoying when it comes to end user placement and not very user friendly.

I will have a look and see what I can come up with.

Love the elevator tube!

I can imagine that your Proximity and PW's Grunge segments will become the new Stock media. I toyed around a little with both and they mix perfectly imho.

@Wizardofid: I love your design.

A lot of brilliantly textured segments still look flat but yours gain so much depth even with a single light source with all the elements you include.

And yes, I've said it before, but that 1 1/2 height really makes for a completely different atmosphere.

What the others have said, simply great.
You've taken a system that's associated with square corridors and given it depth. Keep up the good work!

Awesome.

I agree with Storyteller, it's nice having a room that's not to small and not to tall.

Hi guys,

Well I decided I am not happy with the meshes I created for Proximity, it's not that they are bad, simply not the look nor the level of complexity that I wanted to achieve.I am looking to push a little harder, sort of take things to the next level.

This is already sort of next level when it comes to segments, but still short of it.

So in the next few days I will be compiling the segments that I have created so far and release them this is over 300 meshes.

Perhaps over the weekend, it will be ready.

Hey guys.

update time.

Still busy with this, had some hardware foes, which for the moment is a thing of the past just waiting for my 9800GT and 1TB, as I am having problems with my 7800TGX not liking FPSC every thing is black.

Then I still need to port to X10, so it is still going to be a while before it's complete, hopefully before xmas
