Ok I have no idea how many people actually paid attention to TCG's facebook page, but the "Contest" they have on there is a joke and its BS to those who actually try to contribute! And yes, before the trolls try and take over.. I contributed to the contest, and no it wasn't me who was chosen.

Thats not the point, the point is that if they choose someone, why not choose someone who actually tried to give them ideas!? The contest was about which game tools would people like to see that TCG does not currently have. The winner of this contest said "Ummm a holodeck"? Now if that was going to actually be put to practicle use then im all for it. But its not, and those who did actually try to think of something just got laughed at.

Actually the question was:
Quote: "What game making tool do you most want that doesn't yet exist?"

And the winner's answer was:
Quote: "Several things came to mind, but I'm going to have to go with a Holodeck."

You've implied the stuff about TGC looking for help in tool ideas. All TGC asked people is what they would like to see, which is what the winner answered. Not what TGC should make.

And to be honest with you, a Holodeck would be a pretty awesome game making tool.

Its just a fun contest.

You also need to be aware of UK Laws regarding competitions. For example, if there is no skill involved in entering (the definition of a lottery) then you must ensure the winner is chosen at random. There has to be an element of skill involved to (knowledge, practical application etc) to be able to select a winner.

By HoloDeck, do you mean something like this?

If so, that is a killer idea.

Right now, I use Dependency Walker and Process Monitor . I have never really done any hardcore searching for something that combines the two or more functionality..

I have had ideas for similar apps, where you would open app, "file" > "open" > "dialog to choose exe" and it would load the chosen exe windowed in the app and on the left have a sidebar that showed associated processes, dependecies, allocated / used memory, CPU load, GPU load all for the exe you loaded into it.

Maybe if I knew what this kind of app was actually called I would be able to search and find something similar.

That Guy John: The "this" link contains a virus. Luckily even crappy Norton even caught it. You might want to take it down all the same.

When I first saw an episode with Westley Crusher using the holodeck unsupervised I thought "Are they crazy letting a teenager do whatever he wants in a holodeck!?!".
