I finally got around to this. The feel and ambiance were great. Gameplay was smooth and responsive. AI was well placed/spawned. It was a blast.

Thanks for the fun.

Brian.

What I mean is that the titles of your games mostly are Phobia related.
To bad about your PC time? Busy times, Hooah?

I used to have the same problem with some other games made with v1.18 and I fixed it by installing DX 10, I came up with the assumption that FPSC X9 isn't actually X9, so try installing DX 10, see if that works. By the way I have 2 GB's of ram.

Nah! I still use XP and I made it...and it works.

Perhaps updating Direct X installed some missing components.

I see you've made the players arms seem more dirty and the gun has a more realistic texture, very well done.

I'm learning how to rig weapons on Milkshape.

Thank you! You can get the handtexture from the guns in the upcoming MW Community Pack !! (just a hint )

Rigging in Milkshape? I should learn that too...good idea.

Allied soldierst that try to kill the protagonist because he is infected. I'm not sure if I'll do it, because now that I think of it, it might be a bit too controversial.

@Gunbarrelguru: Thanks you, but what do you mean by death animations? These are the default ones that come with the Zombie Apocalypse Pack.

I couldn't do it like this in X10...thats for sure

Wolf, thats a great idea about the soldiers trying to kill the infected one. That poses some great philosophical questions that could be stirred on by your game.

Ex: Is it alright to kill a man, even if he is infected with a disease that may threaten the lives of others?

Remember that some of the best games in FPS history were originally thought to be controversial (Doom, Duke Nukem, Quake). So I would say - as the creator of Mortal Kombat once said - if it sounds controversial, DO IT!

You could also create an option for the player to either kill the allied soldiers or use stealth to avoid having to kill them.

Unbelievable, isn't it?

I'm certainly not releasing ANYTHING without proper protection in the future...just to prevent this from happening.

I give him some time to take it down, otherwise I would have to report him.

I didn't see the moddb post. But if it has something to do with people stealing your media through the Thanatophobia directory. Try using Vishnu.

@Wolf - That is a complete joke... I would love to help you out if I possibly could.

When I setup our gaming company as a limited company here in the UK, I assigned it a legal team also. VERY cost effective, they look after your entire business from top to bottom and only charge for the paperwork sent out.

There are plenty of fallbacks and it wouldn't cost an absolute bomb if you go down the right paths.

Hopefully, InterFPSC will be a valuable tool for you to use in protecting your custom media, however even with a Virtual File System you could never protect it 100%.

If you need anymore advice, please feel free to email me.

Best of luck!

edit: silly friday night typo!

I haven't heard about it before It appears to be promising. I definately give it a try as soon as I build something next time

And yes, not 100% but it would prevent people like this to do something like that.

So, you have set up a company? Does this imply additional taxes?

Laws are different in all countries as you know, here in the UK as a limited company your customers pay VAT (20%) but that's only after a £60k+ bracket is hit, before that you don't have to charge VAT so you can set any price you want without compromising.

The legal team was VERY easy to assign, there is a whole company of them but 4 dedicated to my company. For your first 24 months (which is plenty of time to release content) they will write, read and ammend TOS, AUP, Your policies, legal statements, letters and even deal with litigation for absolutely nothing. It's well worth the punt, as if someone stepped out of line you could quite easily send them a legal letter which would be letting them know you are on top of things.

Obviously this is only for a mature commercial point of view not something that most FPSC developers would even need, but if you're going to go commercial or really want to protect your assets it's def. the route to go down.

InterFPSC is still in development, but we have already prototype tested it with a commercial DEMO release and it works a charm. Shouldn't be too long before it's in official BETA for public testing.
