First of all a small disclaimer, this is not some cheap way of advertising - I am sharing this because I believe it to be of genuine interest to the people here.
Having a website is usually quite an important thing for a developer, but to get anything that's half-decent that doesn't cost an arm and a leg can be fairly difficult; especially considering most of us don't get paid for what we do!
I have just stumbled upon something called
GrowAHost.com, basically it's Pay As You Go scalable hosting based in the UK. Prices are 30p per GB of Disk Space, and 15p per GB of Bandwidth. Considering not very many of us would be getting exceptionally high traffic, that can work out at 65p per month (1 database + 1 domain)!
This is particularly great when you see their data rates (maxes out my 2M/Bit connection), and also the complexity of their systems (fully scalable and redundant). I challenge you to find a host that performs as well as that, has the same features, and is cheaper!
