Here is a screenshot of my custom SCAR that I am making. Note that this is a WIP. Also the sights, the clip, the bullets in the clip, the shell, the thing that ejects the shell (slidey pull back thing lol), the trigger, and the switch are seperate parts, so they can be used in an animation.

What do you think about it?

Making someone's day a little better because of one of my models means a lot to me.

dont make excuses, it is a cardboard cutout except for the barrel and rails.

Keep working on it. The main way i make my guns is in separate parts. I.e. Model the grip, then the stock, then the receiver, then the barrel, then the sights, and so on and so on.

It also makes UV mapping a bit easier.

regardless if its modeled in seperate pieces or not it could use a bit more work.... Imagine trying to hold that thing in your hand... it would be like carrying around a giant sheetmetal toolbox around that someone converted to a gun. the form is definately there... it just need a bit of love. Chamfer some edges, make the grip more natural...

This is were the real problem is for me... your texure... i know its a wip... but i can barely tell it apart from your background wall. this was posted up by camo studios for someone else... so im going to share the love:
