So recently i got an iPod Shuffle for my birthday. On all the songs i have uploaded onto it, it plays some sounds in one ear and others in the other ear. Like sometimes the voice is in one ear and the instruments are in the other. I have tried multiple headphones with no luck. The same exact songs play perfectly on iTunes...

Please help!

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

If you are actually getting different instruments playing in different ears, and NOT everything just in one ear, then I imagine the songs were mixed that way on purpose. For example if you go back and listen to the Beatles quite a lot of their songs are like that.

Ok i did mean that they were a bit mixed, like more of this instrument in one ear, more of this other instrument in the other ear... But as i said, the songs play totally equal on iTunes. But thanks

Mono VS stereo.

If iPod shuffles have an option, turn it to stereo.

That's how the studio mixed it though, so that's how they want it to be played!

I know but it plays totally evenly on the computer with iTunes using the exact same headphones! Lol thanks Would iTunes play it the same as it would on the iPod? Lol...

Perhaps your computer is outputting a mono signal in both ears.

Or, maybe you're loading mp3s from itunes and it's converting it, but in the conversion process it's getting messed up?

You could try converting the songs manually to a format that can be loaded onto the ipod.

Are all your songs purchased from itunes? If so, you can try contacting apple for assistance as maybe something's wrong.

maybe one of the components determining audio balance has been damaged or something (e.g. a resistors degraded and now has a higher resistance than it should etc.) if you can't find a software approach contact apple to have it repaired on guarantee (if it's still valid)

I think everything is normal these days, and come to think of it my computer always plays mono out the headphones. If it is a hardware problem, i am getting a new one soon anyway as the battery only lasts an hour... But it will be under warranty until late December so that will be free
