I like appletiser and other fizzy drinks like that which don't seem as sugary as coke and fanta. I don't even know what coke is! What IS it? I hate the furry stuff it leaves on your teeth. I don't like coke at all! If I go somewhere where they only serve fizzy drinks I'll take a lemonade any day.

@Jenkins - Is it really a "right" to have a cold drink, any of your choosing, at your school? I wouldn't think so. It's a right to have water, but the drink of your choice? You could take one from home as was previously suggested, but then to demand it be cold, too? Such a funny idea that this is some kind of "right"

As said before, it was an exaggeration So was pretty much just joking when I said I lost a "right." Was trying to describe how upsetting it was when I walked up to an empty square where a vending machine used to stand lol.

And yes I could take one from home, but it's, an every way shape or form, so much more convenient that I buy an ice cold one from a vending machine.

It's still incredibly stupid to me that sodas were banned and I will never agree with it. I don't like to buy sodas at home, because I will drink like a six pack a day lol. I just can't resist soda, so I never buy any at home. I drink a ton when I'm out to eat, but never any at home. This has worked for me to reduce the amount I drink, and then banning them from schools entirely was like a nightmare! lol.

You can start your own "pop black market" Just buy a cooler and store it in your locker or something, and then sell the pop to other kids. One of my old coworkers did that; he purchased a cooler for his desk and sold cans of pop and cold chocolate bars for much less than the work cafeteria was selling them for. Paid for itself pretty fast

Hahahaha. There actually were a couple of kids that would bring soda boxes to school and sell a dollar per soda. That was until a few were suspended and a notice went out saying that people were grounds for expulsion... So it pretty much got to the point of a soda black market lol.

You must live in the worst state, expulsion over selling things? Anyway, the ban is really in place for those who can't control themselves, that and for kids with parents that are sue happy.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

Schools don't ban things because they know what's good for you. I loved playing with YoYos out in the courtyard between classes. No one would interrupt class with a YoYo (the "cool kids" didn't play with yoyo's, but what do they know, right?) nor did we cause anyone harm with a YoYo, but by golly they banned YoYos at my school... I think it was just me and my friends that really played with them at all, because I don't recall ever seeing anyone else playing with one, so I came to the conclusion that the school board was just doing it to spite us, so we tore down the giant statue of the school founder in the courtyard! Okay, well, no we didn't do that, but we did raise a fuss about it.

It might have only been suspension, but for some reason I think because so many kids were doing it they said expulsion. Maybe just to scare them. Or maybe it was just suspension; its been four years so I don't really remember lol.
And yeah I do live in the worst state... California. Awful, awful state to live in.

The only thing they ever banned at my school was the monkey bars. My best friend and I had a contest to see who could grab the farthest bar. I went first and grabbed the farthest bar I could reach and my friend went next... missed the bar and broke both of his arms at the same time. The Principal told everybody that he was getting rid of the monkey bars. I tried to stop it with a petition but he just ignored the 50+ student signatures and took them out anyway.

In Europe people don't have the same access to Soda as they do in the US.

If the US has tighter Soda control, as see in Jenkins' school, I believe it would be a better place to live.

However, it would also bring about mass unemployment of people within the dental industry. This is definitely something which needs to be investigated before bringing about such radical change!

Well Jeku, I'm in Ohio myself, but from what we've all been able to establish here in the last couple of days; it appears as though you'll be facing very strict soda drinking and distribution policies, but that should all balance out quite nicely with your new right to carry a firearm!

try drinking florida tap water for a month lol... but you can always get a brita filter... and put it in jugs in the fridge... nothing like a cold glass of clean water..

I knew someone would post something like this. I'm not saying selling illegal things is fine, but selling small things like games, food, etc. should only be a suspension or less. Expelling kids over selling a few cans of soda is rather stupid. I guess it's because they remove soda machines for a reason, and don't want students selling them, but meh.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

Comes down to every person... I personally hate it... You may love it. I'm also an extreme outdoors man and hate big cities... I'm also very very republican conservative... California is very very democratic liberal and very very big cities. That is San Francisco to the core btw, liberal and big city.

So as you can see, California does not work too well for me lol. But if you love big cities and are democratic (obviously don't have to be democratic but it will probably help lol), California should treat you well

In San Francisco? Hahaha yeah right?! At least not a CCW... Concealed Weapon permits are about impossible in San Francisco and I wouldn't even bother trying to get one.

i love a few beverages BUT i personlally theink PEPSI MAX is the best. its sugar free but tastes the same as normal cokee or pepsi

So you sell candy or drink at your school and get kicked out?

Didn't we defeat the Nazi's in 1945 or something?

There used to be a group at my high school who brought in 10p ice lollies, (well, they were more like sticks), and sold them 15p each at break and lunch. People were happy to pay the tiny extra on a hot summers day, so they'd often clear out and make a good few quid profit.

The teachers backed it, let them store the lollies in the school freezers. Their argument being it teaches enterprising abilities to young kids, and how to run a profit. I personally thought it was a great idea.
