Yeah, I think so - I get weird crackles and interference now and again, especially when the heating comes on . Probably some bad soldering or a dodgy wire. They do for general gaming, but I like my noise cancelling head-buckets at full blast .

Yes it is. I'm about to add 2 more soon, when this hdd at my work (Wal-mart) goes on sale. It'll be $79, and with my discount it will be $72...very nice deal!

I store isos of all of my cds/dvds...That way I can carry just 1 small 6 inch harddrive with me and have access to every single piece of media I own.

Rather than carrying a cd binder with hundreds of cds and pages to look through =P

I try to store isos...but sometimes it's hard to because I can either make an iso of my movie or I can just rip out the video and audio and put it in a lower definition and only have it take up 600mb of space vs 8gb

Yes, I do enjoy plugging my headphones in (£25 Sony pair), especially when you've got a really good sound quality, loud and satisfying explosions without scaring the neighbours. Sadly I snapped my Sony ones, they've been taped together for over a year now, I'm tempted to replace them, but I'm not sure what to buy, because I REALLY loved the sound quality on them, but I don't want ones that break so easily.

Shame, when I was working at Cash Converters, I bought a really nice pair of headphones (worth £35) and put them out to sale for £20, then my dad managed to pluck them off of the shelf before I did. I really wouldn't have minded them (forgotten what they were called).

@seppuku arts

i have the same samsung monitor as you do on one of my mashines exept for mine is a 27 inch. I would post a pic of my mashine, but its a bit messy now and for a while i wanted to set up my desktop to make a kickass picture of it, but not now, maybe later or when another one of these threads will come around. Maybe ill even start the next thread. i posted my desktop in a thread like a year ago, but my room has changed since as well as my computers so the next one of these threads might be started by me

The computer at the far right is my computer, the small middle one is the one I actually use all the time but I don't technically own. It belongs to the non-profit I work for and the boss lets me take it home because I'm working on the replacement program for work... my actual computer can't run the program. The one at the far left is not complete and someday I'll finish it.

Here's a better view of my future computer (it just needs a chip/heatsink, video card, and power supply.

Usually I have both working computers hooked up at the same time. If you look to the upper right of the "I Love You Mikey!" sign there's a small blue device that I use to switch between both computers by hitting the scroll lock button twice. It's so much easier to use one keyboard, mouse, and monitor for two computers.

Nice pics! My wife and I together have 4 computers: 1 Acer Aspire 5515 laptop (needs a new keyboard, but works), an E-Machines desktop (my wife came with this), Compaq Presario CQ61, and a Toshiba Satellite (was my wife's Christmas Gift from me ).

The Acer is an AMD AthlonII 1.6 GHz 64-bit CPU and runs 32-bit Vista, 2 GB DDR2, 160 GB Hard Drive. This one I use strictly for DarkBASIC Professional. The Compaq (mainly for schooling and web designing) runs an AMD Sempron 2.1 GHz 64-bit processor, Windows 7 64-bit, 320 GB Hard Drive, 2 GB RAM. My wife's laptop has the same setup as my Compaq except with Windows 7 being 32-bit. The Emachine is factory set with XP, 512 DDR, and a 500 GB HDD. I told someone in an email that it had ATi graphics and I was wrong, it uses nVidia. All the other laptops contain ATi graphics of one form or another. I also have a 16GB, Wi-Fi Apple iPad that I use for college and gaming. All of the college books have gone digital...at times I would rather have the actual paper. I have a few TGC apps on it, but it doesn't take much to fill up the 16GB of space. I'll get pics soon

I got it from geeks.com a while back for only 38 bucks. I just checked but they don't have any for sale right now. When I get around to it I'm buying a transparent power supply for it to add to the coolness factor.

Yea...geeks has some pretty cool stuff. At one time, they had a server I wanted to get but they ran out before I could place an order. But, I think that what they offer is a reseller's side of this site.

http://www.evertek.com/

I found a few other sites that also seem to be a mirror of this site. Although, I can't recall any at the moment. And I'm pretty sure that most here probably know of these places as well:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/
http://www.compusa.com/
http://www.newegg.com/

And...if you are looking for older Apple computers, these sites are the best I've found:

http://www.welovemacs.com/http://www.usedmac.com/

I know that DarkBASIC doesn't support Macs, but they are fun to work with...and solid. Just my opinion. Oh...and I don't use cellphones. My wife does but I generally don't use them.

I'd like to have all kinds of LED lights and modify my cases, shame is I sleep in the same room where my PC is, and all of those lights make me have trouble sleeping. Sounds stupid, but I have to have my room completely pitch black to be able to sleep.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

Here's my two laptops and iPad. Acer is strictly for DBPro (using USB keyboard until I can locate a replacement keyboard) and the Compaq and iPad are used for college.

And then the desktop. An old eMachine that is not used much.

And now...the other computers: Atari 2600, Nintendo GameCube, PSOne, and XBOX.

Here's another computer I found in our dumpster when taking out the trash one day. Don't know why someone threw it out...it was an easy fix!

And my absolute favorite of all...The Atari 5200 SuperSystem! Been with me since acquired as a Christmas gift in 1982...and it still works flawlessly.

That's all of them...I think ??? I have plans to get an Atari 800, ColecoVision and Intellivision within a few months.

Wow PrimalBeans you have some strange thoughts! Right from the start i recognized it was a printer... That would be a rather wide oscilloscope Then again you never know, i could be an oscilloscope that prints out paper with the readings at hyper speed

I used to have an oscilloscope that was at least that big... lemme see if i can find one that is similar to what i had. It was just a quick glance though and for some reason i had that image object relationship pop into my head.

Thats kind of what i had but mine was older. I miss it.. it was great for troubleshooting all sorts of things... sensors on cars, ( i remember building a converter box for my 486 to use a tv as a display... (for what reason im not sure... lol i think it was cause i was in high school and i couldnt afford a vga monitor) if you ever have the chance you can actually see the vga color signals by checking the pins and watching it on the ocsilloscope. lol great fun. I remember setting it up to play doom and then watching each color channel on the display... kind of cool. Anyway... i know getting way off track... but those were the days... (OR WERE THEY??)

It occured to me that im the only one here who's laptop is at least 40 times more powerful than his desktop It has im pretty sure 64mb of video ram, 1gb of ram, 500mhz 32 bit Celeron, 80gb hard drive, so i never use it. My laptop's processor is 2.1ghz dual core and 64 bit, it also has 64mb of video ram but still runs some 3d games quite nicely... Then it has a nice 4gb or ram. But then again Coffee Coder referred to what i had as being a 'Craptop' which made me lol

A lot of games - That is one of the advantages of being older. Those are only the old games I have decided to keep. I now mainly use steam, I have 172 games in my steam library.

Its not really a complex setup - Standard Keyboard Mouse and Monitor. You can also see an old 1980’s Amplifier (below the monitor) and 2 large speakers. I have an expensive 7.1 PC surround system but find this setup much better. I also have a breakout box from my sound card allowing, at its simplest me to use the PC as an amplifier for my guitar, but also can be used as a recording studio if needed.

Other wires you see are a PS2 joy-pad and a solid state card reader.

So it might look worse than it is.

I just installed a solid state disk drive and am rather pleased with my windows performance index.

@C0wbox I dont know how i didnt recognize that... But now i see! Originally it looked like a landscape editor (which is what MC is) because i saw these triangle looking things... Now just because i dont play MC doesnt mean that im not a complete NeRD! It's just that it lags very badly on my PC...

Yes, it is MineCraft, because I'm a real NERD. But you're actually not that far from the truth either. If you look closely, you'll see a 1000x128x500 hole surrounded by unbreakable rock, and a floor made entirely of obsidian. Do you really think I made that "legally"? I'm using a "level editor" mod, and am working on my awesome level called "Castle Craft", where two teams fight against each other to try and blow up the hidden TNT room filled with TNT. I should probably make a thread soon on my progress, but for now this remains between us

EDIT : lol, just noticed Melancholic's picture has my computer in it too
