I have this speaker system under my desk. I have a pair of headphones plugged in, and need them amplified roughly 3 times the amount my computer will go (I have a hearing disability). However there are two ports on it, a left plug and right plug. Is there a way I can combine the two with an adapter?

Yes, it is me.

I'm not sure I understand you right, but the two seperate plugs are Phono. You'll need a Phono to Stereo 1/4" Jack converter like this: http://www.htfr.com/product.php?productID=256115. Personally I would just buy a decent soundcard like a Creative labs Audigy with the extra breakout box and if that isn't loud enough then run it into a small headphone amp.

All you need is a Y-adapter/splitter, just walk into radio shack and tell them you need an adapter to split the 3.5mm jack into separate left and right.
