I'm trying to source a simple program that would enable me to share notes with other Mac and PC users on a network, the software however needs to work offline (as in not hosted on a website - im after an actual application).

I thought the internet would be littered with them, but so far all the programs are web based.

Can anyone recommend a program ?

There's great solutions out there for use on hosted machines. You could install a Lamp Server on a virtual machine on a computer that's always on, and run Feng office. That would be your best option. You can also host a forum or what have you if that works better. This also keeps things internal, if that's what you're concerned about (as long as you don't allow your server access outside the network).

But alternately, you can setup a shared folder and sync the share to all workstations, but you run the risk of loosing edits, sync errors, and things like that.

You can try Evernote, they're free to try. I have it on my PCs, my Mac Mini, and my iPad and they all synchronize flawlessly. I like that it has character recognition inside of the photos I attach to notes.

Yes, Evernote (and OneNote if you have MS Office) is a good solution. I played with Evernote before I got MS Office and I love both, though obviously I use OneNote for all my notes now and not Evernote, saying that, I downloaded Evernote on my iPod the other day, so I might see if I can sync it to my computer, it'd be nice if OneNote and Evernote were compatible, maybe they are, I guess I'll have to look.

Jeku, that seems to be the perfect solution. Thanks very much!
