I laughed so hard. I cant wait till they deliver, but I thought this was funny. Maybe they always meant to dish it out in June and May was just a joke.

That was hilarious.

That would make sense, I doubt that they would have a video like that made for the announcement, if it was delayed by accident.

So this delay is ironic?
How crap would it be if every developer just made a joke of delays, as if the original deadline was an inside joke. DNF is a running joke, and further delays just amplify this voice in the back of my head, asking why I am even interested. I can't go by my initial reaction to Duke3D, because it was so long ago! - from what I see, I already played DNF when I played Serious Sam and Borderlands.

Why don't we all sit on our hands and wallets come June14th, maybe delay our purchase of a game that has no doubt lost any innovation or character it might have had. We could even try and be ironic about it. The best thing about Duke3D was the game mechanics, the traps and inventive levels, bosses etc - it did things differently and was great - then the subsequent Duke games were absolute garbage.

I know this post sounds mighty negative, but maybe someone can tell me what DNF is bringing to the table that should make me want to buy it, or even care if it get's released.

I've never really followed the Doom series, but I have heard around the internet that this game has been in development for...well forever (oh, I get it now! ). Anyway, does anyone know the reason for the delay? I don't mean this one month push; I mean the years and years gone by? Did a small indie team working on a AAA project bite off more than they can chew, or...?

The delays were all down to twitchy developers. Every new trick, effect, gameplay mechanic had to be added to DNF, to the point that it would never be finished. Someone see's something they like, then DNF has to have that - so it was trying to be umpteen games at the same time, rather than just being a game that people developed then let other people play.

If it is a genuine delay, then I guess it's better than just being told the game is going to be delayed.

Because after countless delays, DNF finally gets a release date, which is then delayed.
