I was just reading a thread and came across a typical shortening of a few words... IMO, and started thinking when I first came across this I struggled to continue reading until I got to the bottom of its meaning lol...

So I dont know if there is a thread for this already but I am proposing we make this thread and hopefully it will get stickified for future reference...

If we can all place all our shortenings in here with full explanations i.e.

IMO : In My Opinion

LOL : Laugh Out Loud

ROFL : Rolling On Floor Laughing

ROFLMAO : lets not use faul language here >.< XD JK

JK : Just Kidding / Joking

XD : google this and you shall see ^^


and so on... so how about it guys?

OR we can be correct: Hypertext Transfer Protocol. I've never seen it used as a common acronym for anything relating to online culture, it's more of a technical acronym.

no, I just thought i would replicate and show how point less it gets if everyone shows the same acronym in different forms, thanks for catching on...

On things like facebook I tend to use :p as a substitute for but I guess that's what it actually means IMO.

I use a variety of emoticons, , xD, D: ^^ ^_^ O_o :S being a few
and the latest: x)
I use them as a way to visuallise wether iam serious, happy, sad

basicly what they are there for i use them for.
