I never liked PM systems tbh, I think it becomes difficult to manage and think it might cause strain on the server if not a high and mighty one already... (in other words more cash needed^^) however I love this forum and its functionality as it is just really want that posts thing, but as someone mentioned it not a list of your posts, but a list of threads you have been posting in... (found him Insanity Complex mentioned something similar to what I have said above, above)

And I agree with a spelling and grammer checker... however if like I do sometimes on a post that becomes HUGE I copy into MS Word (2007) and continue to write until finished and then begin corrections in MS Word (2007) and then back into here, I also have a dictionary app that runs n taskbar in case I feel I really cant remember how to spell that word lol, if all else fails i use goodle lol

Fix the bug when you click "view latest post" it takes you to the first page of a multipage thread. It's been doing that to me a lot recently.

Also on that note^ - something I've found myself wanting - a "view latest posts" button.

If you click the latest post button and there's more than one, you've got to scroll up to find it and back down to read all the rest.

It'd be awesomer to have a button that takes you to the first of the new posts so you can read them all in turn.

Really? Because for me it does take me to the first unread post. I do have the bug where you get taken to the first page instead of subsequent pages occasionally though.

As for spelling and grammar checkers. I thought most browsers had spell checks in already, I never installed anything but they all underline in red dots my spelling errors (Not that I see it very often ). As for online grammar, it doesn't bother me too much, except for when people use then instead of than. That makes me wish I could put my hand inside my screen reach through to them and slap them!

Works fine for me, as well.

Are you guys sure that's really a bug? When that happens to me, I just assume either (a) I haven't viewed the thread yet, so the OP is the newest post, or (b) someone on post moderation edits their original post, which becomes a new post according to the forum (happened just to day, as a matter of fact).

I honestly support a PM system. The forums are nice and all, but they are severely outdated as stated. I mean, we're living in 2011, not 2001.

How is getting PM's from annoying people any different than email? I know that I myself only check my email once or twice a day, simply because most of the time I'm online I spend on forums or working on code projects, using things like MSN to keep contact. Email is outdated. I know it's only really been popular for the last 12 years or so, but in terms of how fast the web has been moving forward it's an old technology that should have been replaced years ago. Quite honestly, more people visit Facebook now than anything. I don't want to see Facebook integration though, that's just bad business right there. Anytime I see a company that says "login with Facebook", a little part of me dies inside because Facebook will one day suffer the same fate that MySpace did.

Anyway, a PM system would be more beneficial than not. Sometimes people don't even include ways to contact them, at that point people make threads asking certain users to give them an email and whatnot.

I think give or take, it's more laziness than it is a real "problem." Often times people would rather not do something and make everyone else annoyed, than to do it and actually reap the benefits.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

I propose a block user button which would then automatically hide posts from certain users. It would be awesome!

Beyond that low-blow sarcastic remark, that would make pretty much no sense come to think of it. Blocking posts from particular users would result in blocky conversations and generally would serve only to irritate people. Think, if you could filter out posts of other peoples opinions and thoughts, you'd find only people that agree with you, that'd give someone the arrogance boost they need, that whole, "I'm right, you're wrong, I'm close minded." sort of thing, right?

IMO these forums are pretty terrible for a board that claims to be a community.

Most of the forums I frequent are vBulletin, and they are cohesive because they have things like dynamic signatures, Private Messaging, user groups, thread subscriptions (email and forum-based), news and announcements forums, etc...

So when you post there it actually seems like a community of people rather than a bunch of random strangers posting. Also the whole thread page listbox is probably the worst part of the forums. That *really* needs to be fixed.

Actually it wasn't in reference to you, which you might find hard to believe (it's just unfortunate that I posted after you). I'm more than happy to name you in a post if I am referring to you. I'm not sure if you know, but mods can read all edits made to a post, so changing your post doesn't mean I didn't read what it said originally

It is an actual feature I use on other forums. You can block a user. Their name is visible but their post is hidden. You can click a button to see the post if you choose, which is not dissimilar to the toggle button here. Just permanently toggled on.
