Hey guys, I have been keeping from you guys! I thought it was time to tell you guys about it. I am a professional DJ (I have a job in radio, i also have a single out) i have been for about 3 years now, I want your opinion as i am getting ready to release my 2nd album out.

Here is the content as of: http://soundcloud.com/technoheroin

I hope you will not be dissapointed!
I have also done menu sounds for someone on the forums and they seem happy with the result, I might be doing requests for in-game, Menu and end music tracks. so keep and eye out (After i release my second album as i am waayy to busy for side projects atm)

Comment and crits welcome

Sorry if this is against the AUP but my DJ name is: DJ Techno Heroin. Also the reason why they are bits of existing songs is i am a sampler (Like daft Punk)

FINALLY! Another freaking musician.

As for the no replies, music is good, but not really a huge interest on the forum (unless it's metal). I like all genres, but unless you post something rock/metal related, don't really expect more than 10+ replies.

I'm a professorial producer and DJ, I have released 2 albums, 80 songs and 30 original's, 6 singles.

As for your music, I don't know, I'm not hearing anything really new, rather then just looping melodies

Pump up the volume = Basshunter - Boten Anna Melody looped

and so on for the songs...

I'm not really disappointed, just confused as to what you are releasing. All these songs have not been modified or live remixed (as a DJ should), they are just beat loops synced over, or overlapping another part of the song.

You need any help with anything? You might want to pick up scratching and learn musical production to get a better understanding of remixing.

My YouTube Channel.
My Facebook Page.
My Website.

and, the forum post for my last album.

If you want any assistance, I would be happy to offer it

I agree with DJ Almix that it's very repetitive.

On Pump Up the Volume I think that you really overdid it on the bass, you should tone that back.

I liked Armageddon, it had a nice Moby influence in it, but it still had some originality to it.

On T'Groove you were trying way too hard to be Daft Punk, that just ruined the song for me.

Thanks budokaiman, I am heavy editing pump up the volume to make it more original,

Armageddon is the best one everone is saying so i may release that as a single.

T'Groove was my first attempt and it was a bit crappy and too daft punkish

Johnski...

Please don't take this the wrong way..

,but don't release these. I mean, there not bad, there just not yours. It's not that I am mad, but here are the three reasons you shouldn't do this:

1. It's in bad taste as a musician.

These days all to often I see musicians stealing others work, and yes, there is a huge difference between sampling and stealing

2. It gives a false image of skill.

If in the future people ask you to make another song, you might not have the skills to live up to there reputation. Everything I have ever made, was from absolute scratch, I'm not bragging when I saw this, I'm saying it because of the effort put into making a song. From that moment you make a song to the end, you will learn so much along the way, and it carries on and builds up in you skills.

Take for example a programmer making a game, he learns about code along the way looking up tutorials, asking for help, self discovery.

3. You can get in trouble with the law.

It costs a ton to buy the rights to a song.

Tried as hard as I could not to sound like a do*che.

Mixes are quite good. That Armageddon track is the easiest to listen to. Good start chap.

I also agree with DJ Almix that the problem with sample based/remixed music is, the main groove and hook is someone elses work. There's absolutely nothing wrong with remixing tunes to give them a new twist, but you do mould yourself into a one-trick-pony, and the true composer in you will never get a chance to develop.

There are a couple of others here mate! I've been writing electronic music since the late 90s. Mostly drum'n'bass, triphop/breakbeat and rap tunes. YouTube channel here if you're interested: http://www.youtube.com/user/FalloutBreakbeat

Edit: I also agree you don't get much of a response here regarding music, so I don't post about it any more really. My track 'Undead' for example, which is one of the best I've done in years had zero feedback. But people come here to chat about nerdy stuff, not kick ass drum'n'bass.

It will sound a bit generic, but YouTube.com has the best FL Studio tutorials.

The Du Hast "mix" doesn't sound like any kind of remix, just the original song that's been chopped up a little. And I think there's definitely more there than just a "sample" of Rammstein's song.

Pump up the volume, don't know if this was original or a remix, but the drums just don't sound like they fit the tempo of the rest of the instruments.

The Daft Punk mix sounds like something played through a device with a dying battery stuck on a loop.

Honestly, I wouldn't want to listen to any of those (and I do listen to electronic). Not trying to be rude. But keep working on it!

I have a few sound tools and several VST packages I got from a friend if you're interested. He makes a lot of electronic music and his sister sings with other groups. If you're curious, she just did some trance stuff with Tritonal (https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html/content/release/detail/349791/broken-down-part-1#app=17f1&a486-index=0)

Hmm... Just out of curiosity.. what is your musical background exactly? IM not trying to be a butt but even though im no musician myself.. there is a lot of things behind the scenes of music that ppl dont have a good grasp on when they try and start. I personally an aware of the flow of music to some extent and im wondering what background you come from and were i can help the most at. Honestly even though you might get a quick lick from the FL studio tuts music theory is your best bet as a starting point becuase it seems like you have the basics down... you just need the music part... lol and in reality the major part is the relation between the mechanical music action and what the emotion is that your trying to create. I cant see that in any of your work. Its good but at the same time... it needs work.

I'm assuming you're probably referring to the OP, but I'll share my experience. Music is sorta in my family. My dad always played on the organ for us growing up, my sister plays guitar and has sung opera while getting her musical degree, her husband plays in a jazz band, several of my friends play instruments, and for myself have played guitar for 15 years, a baritone when I was in school, and fiddled around on piano and cello. While mentioning the people around me may not seem to be relevant to what I know about music, I think when you're surrounded by it all the time it does help with a certain understanding about music altogether that can always be helpful. Oh, and my mom just started playing guitar a year or so ago, making my brother the only person in the family who doesn't play anything. Bum.

There's several good websites out there to help you begin techno/electronic. Instead of doing remixes, build something up original. You can always go back, even years later, and still tweak it and add samples or make changes with new things you've learned. I think I'm just rambling now.

Here is my background: Started playing piano when i was 9, Then swithced to electric guitar got the hang of it, played for about 4 years, Then went on to become a DJ for radio thetford on my 7pm slot playing techno, trance and electronica then i started to fiddle around with FL studio creating samples (Not released them as they were rubbish) Then got ableton live 8 then made some sampling in that (the released ones) Then i have moved back onto FL studio creating original tracks.

Here is my first original track, took me 3 hours to do (Had to learn FL again) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMVtL3SdBXI
