I suppose it doesn't fit the true meaning of 2D sprites, but can anyone recommend anywhere to buy 2D clipart that I can use in games? In particular, I am looking for collections of images, e.g

Vehicles
Kitchen Utensils
Engineering machinery

I've looked around, but finding licenses suitable for use in games isn't easy. For example, clipart.com expressly forbids use in software and games.

I'm sure you could find artists in the 2d section that would be more than happy to make images for you if you're paying.

Thanks for the idea, but I'll be in need of a *lot* of images in image sets, hence I'm looking for an affordable solution.

I suppose the most affordable solution would be drawing them yourself. (That's what I do when I need sprites) - But I guess you wouldn't be asking if you could just draw them anyway. xD

Man i would do it yourself... or pay me!! lol... jk... i have my own project... im not really sure exactly what you need so maybe you need to be a bit more clear as to what your uses would be. Then we could better help you... If you dont have a tablet and your still kind of unsure about drawing them i would recommend my AIPTEK 12.1" tablet... it cant be beat. For the ~100 $ i paid it is hands down the best tablet ive owned for the money. And ive owned some good ol wacoms.... I like this best (Especially compared to the price i paid for wacom tablets)
