Has anyone else played this? I just bought it this morning and probably played seven hours. Its certainly not a revolutionary game by any means... But its a blast! I had watched some videos and they looked great, yet I still somewhat expected it to be crap.
The campaign is very standard: one bad situation after another and repititiously shoot bad guys lol.
What makes it fun then you say?
Well for one, its only $15 and you get far more than $15 worth of play time. I played seven hours just today; that alone was worth it to me.
Second, the online multiplayer is very intense. I believe it is 40 player battles. About five of my seven hours today was playing online.
There is also a game type called Swarm. Its basically Horde from gears of war/firefight from halo. I've yet to play that but it allows four player coop which I really like.
My biggest annoyance is that there is no lobby where you can invite your friends into a group. Joining a game and trying to invite your friends is a pain in the ass because half the time you join a have with only one slot.
If I was to rate it compared to most $60 FPS.games, I would probably give it a 7/10. Which is still pretty good. I've played far worse $60 games than Section 8. But rating it compared to the entire rest if the XBLA, its definitely a 10/10.
So basically this is how I see it: ive had no FPS online games i have wanted to play (just found out GoW3 beta started so Section 8 will be put aside already lol) and I've had an itching for some gaming... Section 8: Prejudice fills that spot, and does it damn well. I wouldn't pay $60 for it (though that means very little because there really are only a select few games I buy straight away) but I'm definitely enjoying it for what it is. When I'm bored, it gives me something to do, and does so with complete entertainment and surprisingly, very little frustration.
Its not a must-buy but if you have been looking for an online FPS, then its probably very suitable for you.
So yeah, I liked it lol. Especially for it having been only $15.
