I'm currently located in Wisconsin, just about 40 minutes in a direction from Madison. I was previously located in Illinois but my family moved away from there in November (due to various reasons, but the honest to God reason was to get away from the craziness that surrounded us...not even kidding).

Same here, I think it is hard to find anyone locally that is on the up-n-up with anything tech unless you are in a area where their economy is based on Tech. I think all of us sometimes forget most of us here are above average on Tech knowledge when comparing to other people local to us. That is why the internet is so great.
