I'm posting this, not because the gameplay looks amazing, but because of the graphics style.

They motion-captured the heads of people talking, and put that into the game. There's nothing like DarkVoices where the audio is recorded and then the motion is generated.

So, all the subtle features of acting, like telling if a character is lying, or reading emotions, is captured in the character's faces.

skip to 1:50 for a good view of what's happening.

Anyways, I can't wait until I see someone walking down the street, so I can be like "Hey! You're that guy from that video game!"

[edit]
I do notice that in some scenes there's a litttle bit of a disconnect between heads and bodies.

Tell me if there's a broken link to images in a thread I post, and I'll fix 'em.

That's pretty cool. The facial expressions are absolutely fantastic.

But in truth, I have no desire whatsoever to play this game lol. Props for the awesome graphics, but I've yet to play anything even moderately entertaining to me by Rockstar. Simply not my type of game.

But this isn't going to be like GTA or so I've been led to believe from everything I've read about the game...

I've had it pre-ordered for ages now and am waiting eagerly to play it. IF it delivers what they promise it might even be my game of 2011, which is currently Portal 2.

Didn't they also create the Max Payne and Manhunt games? I could be wrong, but I thought they did. I wasn't specifically targeting the GTA series, though I hate them... I just meant, in general, I haven't liked any of their games. And from what I see from this game, I won't care for it either.

I really don't like the prohibition, mafia era either. It is so uninteresting to me.

Ahhh well they are making Max Payne 3 if that counts lol.

And I hated Max Payne... I used to be dropped off at my cousins house after school, (this was years ago) and I couldn't get him off the damn Max Payne games... Sitting watching someone play Max Payne for three hours five days a week created a strong hatred of it. And then... Finally, I get to pick up the controller.... it was lame lol.

Ah I loved the Max Payne games (not the movie!)... Here's the trailer with the inception music edited over the top... epic

I thought you'd be into it because you got to play as the police...

the max payne games, or atleast the second one (the only one i've played heh) was really really amazing

Stronghold, who is similiar to it is pretty cool, but focuses too much on the gore and shooting...
Payne <3

oh, la noire, saw that a while back and it looks great

however my favorite this kind of game is definitly mafia 2, the story really entagled me so hard. Anyway, this game looks like it can become something really great! Looking forward to it indeed

A fellow Dark Basic programmer worked on LA Noire. Some of you might remember him by his forum name, RPGCyco.

I have mine pre-ordered, it looks to be a really cool detective game. I know my wife will like it, right now she's been playing the Still Life games.
