hey guys, I'm stopping some script development to start a better project which is important to you all
I'm still helping here. and I would be cool if 2beastmode4u would help me with developing it

it's a fpsc developers game starter maker
it will contain options such as:
- edit the gui
- update servers
- login
- and more aditions. (to be announced by the great forum users)

thanks for the script...but it does not seem to work.

I can get the "press enter to pick up" feature to work, but the hud won't show. I am putting the script into the weapon.fpi section of the weapons properties.

@2Beastmode4u and @gladius the script seems to work, all the code is correct. @gladius... did you placed the script in AI main?

and where did you placed the hud?

gamecore\huds
or languagebank\english\gamecore\huds ?

because the second one is the first directory where fpsc is looking for huds.. maybe you won't see it because the engine can't find it... place the hud also in the second path. and make sure to remove "sppaces" in file names. it might help
at least it helps for me

Hey, beastmode, can you please make a script that makes an entity follow a waypoint, but at a variable distance from the ground. I'm trying to make a floating object that moves around with waypoints, but it seems to always be stuck to the ground. Thanks!

Hi All!

I'm in need of a "Appear with decal" and "Dissappear with Decal" script. What i'm after here is a fear type of a effect (ever played?)
where the enemies appear with a pop of smoke/ashes. Same thing when dying, enemy could fadeaway but also show a decal of something like ashes falling. I hope this wont be too comoplex ;p I can do that decal myself but I can't script. Thank you

is it to late to reguest scprit. did a search but no luck. this is what i was trying to do..having entity (dynamic) laying on top a table. i want to shoot it and have it drop a key when it is destroy.

when i tried, the key is already there under the body and pick it up before it destroy.

i also got others inmind but still doing research on it and trying to learn the script making...if i have troublew could give my some pointers.

There is no "spawn decal" command so the only way to do something like that is for you to have the animation built into the entity. If you do just tell me the animation number and I can easily make the script.

Yes, that was the first thing that I thought of but that would mean that every time the state was one it would show the hud.
According to your script, if I lower someone's health by one and stop shooting that hud would keep on showing.

My experience with the hud value is that it will close automaticly because the hudhide=1 value is added to it.

Yes but since the script loops, and computers read this continuously so it would just keep showing. The speed that a computer reads at is baffling so it wouldn't even show the fade part since it just loops.

thank you for time on this script, but i am having problems setting it up right. do i put in under the key destroy or under the entity destroy( the entity has no anim, just lays on table) i have the entity setup as dynamic. is destroyable. also do you use FPI EditPad or something else...everytime i copy and paste if gives me errors... i post a pic in my next edit in here.

That still doesnt stop the fact that the "shotdamage" condition will always be true. You see, if I did 1 damage to the character and never hit him again the hud would show forever because that condition doesnt reset itself to zero by itself. It never resets actually. Maybe if the was a mousclick condition... actually why isnt that a condition? It is already built into Dark Basic Pro so why not add those in along with more variable possibilities like health=varhealth . Then to have something like, if varhealth <> health hudshow indicator. I tested this in DBPro and it works just fine so why not just add that into FPSC? This is definately something I'm going to do for my mod. Cheers.

Mouseclick is already a condition within FPSC, it's called "mousestate=X" where X is the value of the mouse button: 1=Left, 2=Right, 4=Middle, 8=Forth(whatever that is). You can add these numbers up to do combinations of buttons so that mousestate=3 is true if left and right mouse buttons are clicked.

You can also do the healthvar=health feature you mention. First set up a local variable for the entity using "dimlocalvar=HealthVar", then set this to the entity's health internal variable ($EH) by using "setvar=HealthVar $EH".

Et voila.

I'm guessing that your FPI Edit Pad is a VERY old version. I suggest un-installing it then installing the newest version. You put the script in the entities destroy, not the main. Don't put this in the key's destroy.

Woah, I completely forgot about those variables. Could you tell me where you find them in the FPSC source? Every time I look in the google code I find nothing like that. Do you look in the downloadable source?

I want it to be like when the character gets into a scary situation his vision would start to blur or possibly get a certain color at the edges.. of course there has to be a limit and if the character goes too insane i want his health to drop to 0. like a suicide from a massive sanity failure?

I want there to be screen distortion when in sight of enemies, and possibly a suicide system(the players health dropping to zero) after excessive insanity. Possibly the character have blurry vision?

Search for "$EH" in the source code and you'll get to the part where internal variables are handled. Alternatively there is a list in the Community guide part 2 and at the back of my latest syntx list

Mousestate=0 should be true if no mouse buttons are clicked.

Hi.
I am new to FPS and in the process of putting a game together, well an updated remake of an old Spectrum platform game. made into a 3D game

I am in need of a lift script that will stop at a certain floor for a few seconds then carries on moving.

In other words: The lift start at the top, moves down and stops at the next floor for a few seconds, then moves down again untill it gets to the next floor and stops again for a few seconds...ect

Now when the lift gets to the last floor it stops for a few seconds and then starts to move back up again stopping at each floor for a few seconds until it reaches the top floor the repeats the process.

Would be very greatful.
