Thanks Vent.

Here's a little screenie of a pair of the vending machines that now appear in the abandoned canteen chamber.

@anayar - thanks, I've moved away from Sketchup now, but I was pleased with how the vending machines came out.

@pajkoCGR, kulet & Beno09 - thanks guys!

I'm aiming for the full demo to be available at the end of November in time for the DTO deadline. There will be no additional level to what is already available, but the majority of the levels have been re-worked to add atmosphere and story elements. In fact I've been spending most of my time, creating little story entities that will be scattered throughout the levels hinting at the rise and fall of the factory you are trapped in.

Here's a screenie of the newsletter "NRG" - when you walk up to these, the front screen is displayed as a HUD so that you can read the text. There are four different versions throughout the game.

Quote: "What you have used for text screen ?"

If you mean the subtitles, I used the Courier font with the fpgcrawtext= command. If you mean the custom "press eneter..." text, I created a custom hud using a royalty free font (I forget the name).

Cheers for the support (and the proposal).

I have been working on this game since my last post, but I wanted to wait until I had something substantial to show instead of flooding the thread with screen shots.

I've been battling with various bugs, but I've managed to finally get the game to build. I'm now play-testing the game to death to sort out all the bugs and make sure all the HUDs display correctly and my level timer feature works and displays correctly. I was hoping to have the demo ready for today, but that's not going to happen, but I am on track to have this ready at the end of the month.

Hehe... the videos pretty funny. Have you thought about using Audacity to clean up the audio, though?

Cheers for the comments guys Sean and I appreciate them.

@Wraith Staff, I actually made the audio dirty using Audacity. I wanted it to sound like it was coming through a factory speaker system.

I've finished the demo and it is available here. The link in the first page as also been updated.

Ched,

I don't know if you have noticed, but, we have been given an extra 48 hours on the deadline.

One minor thing i notice about your screens. (that i notice with the majority of FPSC games. You might want to move your light sources closer to 'light8' (the stand up light entity from stock scifi. It casts a shadow ( a very nice shadow) but, lights wouldn't do that. It would just be dark behind the light. No shadow should be cast.

Anyway, like i said, this is just a minor point.

Cheers unfamillia,
I did see the extension, but I would prefer the 20 points. There are many other things to mod and tweak that I would need another 6 month's in order to correct them all, but they wouldn't enhance the core gameplay or vastly improve the player's experience so I have decided to leave it as is.
Looking forward to getting the feedback.
