The flame thrower looks really nice. You seem to be a natural at 3D modelling.

Do you use normal and specular textures on the guns? (the stock shader uses _R for secularity)
Also, I notice a few smoothing errors on the guns.

Yeah, the flamethrower is a special feature for a friend of mine...she likes to set people on fire.

Yes, I do. they work fine. Hmm... I don't think so, maybe the shader?
If so, could you point them out for me?
Don't want to burden you with anything though, pal

It was just that the shading on the gun here was very sharp

just to be extremely mega picky with you

the hand for the gun is floating a little?
the muzzleflash isnt in the right place?
looks like its missing _R maps?

think that maybe these are little annoying things that non-FPSC's seem to pick up on real quick and immediately judge as a crap game -.-

No, actually its not.

Quote: "the muzzleflash isnt in the right place? "

it is, besides, I've never shown a shot where the muzzleflash actually shows up

Quote: "looks like its missing _R maps?"

I add these later, they aren't absolutely necessary, why do you think that any nonfpsc user would think "oh boy, the guns shader could use another map that is not there, this game sucks!"

thats more something an FPSC user would say I guess.

Thanks for the criticism.

Well, I have circled in the picture where it appears to be floating. And if it isn't even though it appears to be, could you provide a reason why it looks like that?

Also, I've circled an area where there appears to be something sticking out of the gun.

I agree with Darimc. I think that's the problem I had before, I just didn't notice that the gun was actually floating.

I marked the places where the hand touches the gun The Thumb is close to those buttons to eject the magazine (That was a coincidence, but hey, lets say it though =

There is indeed something sticking out of the gun, its part of its design. Well...you could easily stick your eye out if you aim down the sights wrong But its not a real gun anyway

It's the shadows at work that make it appear to be floating, but honestly it doesn't look like it. If the gun caste a shadow then it wouldn't be an issue.

Every screen is makeing this game more epic then the last! Keep it up Wolf man.

(: Thanks people!!

Important:

I attached 2 Themes of the 14 Pieces Soundtrack. These are WAV Files. However, I managed to get them around 1 Megabyte in Size with compression. Now, I'm not sure if they work on every pc so I would like a few of you people to download it and give it a listen. Find out if it plays correctly and in acceptable quality as it should.

It is a .7z archive.

Wow! They are really awesome, 1Sewerbackgroundtrack reminds me of PSX Doom, very atmospheric!
I think they are perfect for this game, how did you make them?
at 30 seconds in to the track Consequences, it suddenly jumps (was this meant to be like that? to quickly show how the song progresses)

A small bug I get from your music is that they won't open in WinAmp.

Thanks for testing! it would have been a disaster if all the sound wouldnt play in the final version

In my fathers little soundstudio I have hours of music recorded and I split them up in little songs, remix them etc. They are playd on a Kurzweil Synthi mainly.

Take a look at one of the new guns:

No This project is meant to practice modeling for Relict.
Basically so I can start with a certain quality. You see, if I would have started to make models for relict right from the beginning on, they would have been far worse than the ones I would have made a few weeks later and wouldnt match the visuals. So this game was born to practice on trial and error. I hope that made sence =D

Short answer: no

long answer: Most things aren't shaded. Some static objects have the metro theater static shader on them for reflecting metal (specular mapping). The rooms use bond1's free segment shader with tweaked values. The gun use this phong bump specular shader. Watereffects are from the metro theater pack. These have adjusted values aswell.
And last but not least, the fullscreenshader which is available on the forum (I linked to it on page1) but has adjusted settings.

Then you clearly haven't looked very hard. What about games like Eldora or Alpha Project? Or newer games like Rouge, Dark House, Beyond Life Rebirth, Alien Vs. Predator New Hope, Toy Art War or Beyond Life 2? All these games are original and appealing, you should look a little harder before making a statement that puts down the rest of the community.

But, Wolf, I do agree that your game is coming along very nicely.

Nice cover art! You seem to have some "thing" with ribcages? I see alot ribcages in stuff that you have something to do with

The screens look really good. The new screens look a bit cleaner and lighter though I don't know if you were aiming for that, I like it

I'm lagging motivation these days...hanging around too much.
Maybe its because I simply don't find a good apprenticeship in this hellhole or because my little summerromance found a sudden and out-of-the-blue end. Basically I'm sitting too much in front of my computer again...this is so depressing.

ANYWAY Not your burden. I have a small update for you people:

As you can see, there was not much going on here.

However, I'm going to release an MP³ Album with all the soundtrack files for this thing Just so I can design a cover for it

These screenshots seem too gray. If I were you, I would add more colors to the pallette in these pictures. For example, make that overhead pipe a rusty red. Make the door on the ground a metallic blue. It all seems to blend together.

i agree. one thing you can do, is make everything with more color than you want, and then use a full screen shader to make it look how you want. That way you have easier control as to how you want it to look.

This part is supposed to look like this. The sepia shader colors the dark areas even in a light washed out brown. I know that not everyone will like this look.
However, the C-Tower levels will all have a slight purple look to them...We'll see how that turns out

You all shall perish in front of the mighty doublepost!

Sorry folks

Been a little busy on Shavra again way to waste your sparetime, canhead! ...wait, who are you? I'm you're less boring I, you knew that Will you quit it? I try to seem professional here! You and professional, how is that supposed to work?

Well anyways! I finally modeled a mainweapon for the enemie troops in Shavra The first one had Errant AI's G36C with Snowcamo which made a lot of sense in a giant prison on a almost completely desert planet ... so I just thought I should stick witht he concept and keep the original idea.

The scope has a modeled in ironsight.Fancy Projection or just a green dot (not sure what'll look best yet) will be added in-game with the Scopeoverlay feature FPSC has. Because his crapshader does not support transparency! Can it! You don't even know what a shader is!

Enjoy!

Now to the actual screenshot-update! Thats not a word!

I hope you all like it! You know, he has shown some of these from a different angle already!

The release date is set on september, and with only 6 Levels to go, I think this should work out! work out! Yeah, thats something you should do again instead of being semidepressed and geeky! You used to have a so callen sixpack! Now, you are the one to talk, all you do is sending letters to get the crappiest jobs and... At least I'm still fighting! Stop cutting of my sentences! Thats not even possible! I am you! will you two cut it out? Oh no! Not your female side again -.-.
I know its a hard time for all of us, but this behaviour won't get us anywhere! I bet something will turn up soon and we can all be happy again! Lets group hug and get some icecream later! I actually want to draw a butterfly on my G36 now...
Yeah... thats just wierd! Did you people know that it is actually wolf's female side that is big on guns? Just wierd! ... man, I'm getting to bed now!

Sorry! I got carried away
