Do not go with that cover image if you want to sell this, go and use something from a stock image site. Otherwise you are going to fall on your own sword. I really hope you take this advise.

I'm going to print it on a shiny steel case...that'll sell
Now seriously, thanks for the concern, but I'm not going to sell this.

Well...I felt like it and I was tired now that I think of it. Anyway! Glad you like it!

Everything looks great, but my main critique for your gun is that the thumb-print activation thing is just slapped onto the texture. add a metal border around it or bevel the edges in your pixel editor to make it look more apart of the gun. Great work as usual though!

Thats actually a great idea! I will do that. Thanks for the input.

Here you can take a look at all the finished guns so far. (Stock Weapons are not part of the list)

On my cheap laptop screen they all appear almost black. If this is the case for you... invest in a better screen

Thanks! Comments like these keep this going in these dark times...for me at least.

Quote: "This game is looking awesome can't wait to play a demo of it."

Thats nice to hear, but there won't be a demo. I don't do demos for the simple reason of people judging the entire game on the small amount of content shown in the demo. I want to not give away anything until full version. Which won't take that long anymore in the first place

Quote: "Nice arsenal!"

Thank you Its far from complete...there will be a lot more added. I just hope the weaponswap function will work correctly.

Quote: "I really like the one in the top right of the 5,56 mm guns."

It is my favorite until now aswell

Input is appreciated. Feel free to be picky and harsh. (critique like "the green light could be a little more swamp green instead of this warm green" does not really get me anywhere though)

I agree with EGG HEAD OF DOOM, the thumb activation thing doees need to stand out more, to stop it looking like a sticker.

One thing I notice about your guns, is that the attachment rails on are not consistent in size. This is something people will notice when playing the game. For example, the player is using one gun with rails and picks up another, but the rails look different all of a sudden. Also, I curious whether you have normal/specular/etc. maps on the guns, or any custom models you've made for this game?

Yes! I should get another look on this texture this week.

Quote: "One thing I notice about your guns, is that the attachment rails on are not consistent in size. This is something people will notice when playing the game. For example, the player is using one gun with rails and picks up another, but the rails look different all of a sudden."

Yes, but I concider this to be a minor flaw.

Quote: "Also, I curious whether you have normal/specular/etc. maps on the guns, or any custom models you've made for this game?"

Not on the image above, fragmotion does not support this but they certainly will have these maps attached in the game. (makes them look a lot better, I might add). And yes there are a bunch of custom models inGame. You can spot 2 or 3 in the screenshots already.

I've added another one. Modeling took me 45 minutes...unwrapping was done in 3 hours with lots of pauses...its so tideous and boring -.-

I felt the need to add a few more non-bullpup Assaultrifles

I love this gun. It looks like a cross between an m4/m16 and a G36C. however it looks thin :/ but idk, I've never even held a real assault rifle

Hehe! Thank you people!

Oh...and yes, the rifle is too sin. It doesn't bother me that much though. (I mean! I modeled it and it looks like a tactical assault rifle... THAT'S SOO COOOOOL!!! Ahm...I mean...I'm not that good in modeling yet and results may vary)

Okay... without behaving like a kid that see's Call of Duty the first time.

I have another small update on the progress for you people.

I made this connection bridge. There will be some shooting here, but you can play through it within 3 minutes. A really small level.

I also modeled this little Uzi

Looking great wolf. I love the design and quality. I do, however, have one crit. The posters in the bottom left picture do not match the rest of the environment. If you were looking to add contrast, it is a good start, but it isn't different enough. As my Graphic Design teacher always says, "Make it different, make it VERY different". So if you were going for contrast, don't be afraid to use some primary and secondary colors to contrast with the greys, blacks, and browns that make up most of the level. Some yellows would really work here. If you weren't going for that look, you may want to fix that
Overall the quality of this is stunning, and I can't wait to see more.

Nice work, the Uzi looks like an Uzi Pro, we don't see many of them in games.

Those tunnels are impressive too, there are no shading errors like I have seen when using those.
I cannot wait for more ^^

The atmosphere in those pictures are amazing! However, a gritty retexure of the stock sci-fi door would work better in your game. it looks a little out of place :/

Hmm, no! I don't want them to stick out that much. I do however agree that they don't fit in. I'll add some dirt on them and lower the saturation a bit. That should do the "decades of decay" trick Thanks for pointing that out.

You take design classes?

Actually, I made this with the 3D gamemaker. I'm kidding!

I guess you know more about Uzi's then me .
However yes! I don't like it when someone else had the same idea as I had even before I had it. ...or so

Quote: "The atmosphere in those pictures are amazing! However, a gritty retexure of the stock sci-fi door would work better in your game. it looks a little out of place :/"

But it already is retextured
Maybe a less reflective shader... hmm, I'll see. I make a list of everything you guys point out, so keep it comming

LOL, maybe for the door texture, you could add some dirt or rust creeping up from the bottom. But let's see how the shader change will work.

Its fitting in when I darken the light's color. That was an easy issue to solve

News
***********

Good news everyone!

I wanted to start this update with things that are going quiet well in my life now, but I decided that most of you dont even remotely care about that. Which is why I decided to give you the latest news on SHAVRA which are pretty exciting

After having Abdul Ahad helping me out with some rigging first. I decided to teach myself how to animate in fragmotion. I had my first go on it today with bending a cylinder. (I know what you are thinking right now).
However. It worked!
I contected cyborgArt to get blank Handmodels and the stock guns as Milkshapefiles in groups so I can get started with my own animations. I plan to give you guys some real smooth tactical animations.
But until then, I guess I have to bend some more cylinders

I also made a whole bunch of new 3D Models. Computers, machinery...stuff like that. I will give you people a full art asset preview of these in my 3D Chat thread later.
You can see some in the screenshot update aswell

I also finally made the titletheme of the game Some of you already heard it, everyone else will be suprised, amazed or vomit in disgust when its released

Coming up next, some screenshots:

Last image is a gapfiller.

Those retextures are perfect! They really suit the game's environments.
My only criticism is that the coffee adverts on the walls aren't dirty enough, maybe a little bit of rust (if the sign is metal) or rips (if the sign is paper) on the edges will help.

This has levels with allies, better firefights, actual missionobjectives, puzzles and vertical gameplay.

Well it was worth telling you for future reference!

I go to school for graphic design. Not just classes for design

Most recent images: I think that the woman character has something off about her. It may be the green hair But I think it is the fact that the face is very pale/grey, while the arms look much more healthy.

HAHAHA! that got me

Anyways. I'm glad you'll have more than Deprivation. What kind of vertical gameplay? Do you just mean more verticality in general? like fights will not just be contained to one floor in a room.

Exactly, there is going to be a lot of "getting up" "low gravity" and "sniper!!" going on in the game

Quote: "Only a little bit, but just the atmosphere and storyline of it. "

I played it as a child and it influenced a lot of my storywriting, Art assets...but I really don't see it in this game. Well... since that game was great, all the better that you see connections

Stay tuned for more!
