1) has anyone else noticed that they disabled comments for that video? I wonder want kind of feedback they've been getting.

2) Looks like the iPad has shaken microsoft, if their big plan is to shove Windows Mobile 7 on top of Windows 7 and call it Windows 8.

3) Why don't they just rebrand it Windows 7 Slate edition?

4) I wonder if there's actually going to be any other improvements other than a HTML5 UI?

5) I wonder how fast this will run on a budget end slate PC running an Atom 1.6 with intergrated Intel HD graphics.

6) I wonder if this will drive another specifications leap. Remember windows 2k and windows Vista? Wow you needed soo much more power just to boot Windows Vista/ Seven in a reasonable timeframe.

7) I wonder what they will break in this new OS, that reduces it's compatibility with older programs.

8) Will users with mouse driven interfaces care about this UI? And will users thank microsoft for a new generation of finger print stained computer screens?

Excuse me now, I have to go polish my iPad (again).

oh and 9) is this great news or what? For people that make screen protectors!

I think it'll be good for HTPCs, but only if remote buttons/mouse control is good.

Yeah, true... I wonder why they even brought forward the idea if they anticipated negative feedback.

I just think Microsoft shouldn't be turning PCs into phones, they should be turning phones into PCs... if that makes sense.

It does make sense, i would love to have a miniature version of my PC on the road. It's a real bother to pack up my PC whenever i go somewhere it's needed.

XP is crap compared to 7, really:
windows 7 runs more smoothly (my laptop, which isnt even supposed to be able to RUN win 7) on my laptop, than on XP, i havent gotten a SINGLE BLUESCREEN on it, which i got all the time on XP, it looks better, bla bla bla

I think XP is really really worthless to be honest, it crashes all the time, it doesnt handle games well at all compared to newer ops, it bluescreens all the time, it runs slowly

and for the record, I am a man.

At least with XP you can install DBP to Program Files, you can turn off auto arrange without resorting to doing scary stuff with the registry, and you can open a list of programs from the start menu and not have them in a tiny little scrolly box.

I haven't had any blue screens but it've had some freaky stuff happen. It does for the most part look nicer though.

even though its more convenient in a tiny little scrolly box, instead of having it cover the whole screen

and for the record, I am a man.

If you're actually serious then that's subjective.

I agree. At first I didn't like scrolly box, but I've had installs of windows where the whole screen was covered and the last cell of the programs menu became a scrolly box. So. Might as well just use the scrolly box.

Yeah, because security should come second.

You can do this on Vista/7 if you know what you're doing.

Not to sound harsh but Im glad u guys our not on MS payroll. They are building the Os off the currnt tech flow and users demand. Currently users use their phones more then there PC. So they designed a main station "phone" like PC. Your Pc will operate as your main data storage unit and your phone is your portable data unit. Thats really a brilliant concept Ms has created with this new Os and it is the It trend of most users and the world really. For those who live in the past will still have Windows 7 it looks like and those who live in the now will have this OS.

I'm a windows user, and I certainly don't use my phone more than I use my PC.
