If you haven't checked out Red Faction Guerrilla now is your chance. It is 2.49 yoyo's on Steam at the mo and well worth it. Here is the link.

NOTE: If you don't like Games For Windows Live then this isn't for you I am afraid

MINI REVIEW

Seriously one of the best games I have played in a long while. It is not perfect in its execution but I am sure most will find it fun for the most part.

Completely destroy buildings with cars, bombs, walkers (Mechs), guns and a Sledgehammer If anything this game is a inspiration to game makers to push the boundaries!

If you get it or already played it let me know what you think.

Amazing game, but this port to PC is a bit half-assed sadly.

Still, it runs pretty well for me, and is definitely a game worth trying.

I recommend it!

Challenging gameplay, fun with the sledgehammer, eerie and well designed athmosphere, cool soundtrack, cool guns, fun storyline and awesome visual effects!

It does have its problems unfortunately. One major problem is the slow down in one of the zones. I cant remember its name but it is the only zone where my graphic card chugs along. Also the consolitis

Don't get me wrong, I spent 3 months solid taking my time through it. The side missions are tonnes of fun, and demolishing buildings jsut feels so...rewarding.

Agreed! It would be great if more devs pushed the boundaries like Violition

The sequel's coming out this year, and lookin' sexy. Although it's underground apparently, I'm unsure how that'll affect the destructability factor.

I haven't played the original Red Faction yet, but this looks pretty interesting. Might buy it...

[EDIT] I just watched some more trailers, and wow, the destruction one looks really cool!

Hmm... Maybe we can digg tunnels to hide in

...or blow up the ceiling to smash enemies with the downfalling rocks.

Are you sure you want that game? I has dystopia, guns and mars and absolutely no ponies =D

From the looks of things there will be no geomodding. Which is unfortunate. Have you played the first 2? I think they are going back to the first and second with this one. So story wise there might be a better story than the 3rd.

The destruction is off the scale! The first 2 only had geomodding which might be lame by today's standards but in the 3rd you can destroy anything except the actual ground. Throwing a sticky mine on a trooper never gets old lol

Definitely still worth a look. The glass house demo that comes with that is still great

I don't play games for story, I play them to feel like Thor, the god of thunder, bringing buildigns crashing down with his mighty golden hammer.

I did
"A name typically given to the male viewers/fans (whether they are straight, gay, bisexual, etc.) of the My Little Pony show or franchise. They typically do not give in to the hype that males aren't allowed to enjoy things that may be intended for females."

But that doesnt call you a pony =S.

The avatar is a character from My Little Pony. I like My Litle Pony. Please don't pull this thread off-topic with it, I made a threaad so we wouldn't get complained at for derailing other ones.

If I played a game with what could be called a storyline, then I would appreciate them more.
