What is this obsession with trying to look like a plastic doll? It's creepy!
Skin has texture and features, why cover them up with a solid block of colour?
The irony is that women damage their skin trying to look like plastic dolls.
< because this comment was getting too serious.

It just looks like it blurs out skin tones on some of them to look smoother. Of course I'm not a fashion model, so I'm probably not part of the target demographic.

I like how the boy looks exactly the same!
I can understand why advertisers or fashion...people would want to do this though. If you are trying to sell something you don't want people to be distracted by the model so you simplify their features.

Does anybody remember something similar to this that someone posted a while back? It was a service that Photoshopped pictures of your kids to make them look like dolls - I mean actual dolls.

Scary :S

Honestly, I don't understand why people feel the need to look perfect. I think all the "original" pictures look better, because they seem real. Everyone has imperfections, but that's part of who you are...

I think I know what your talking about. It gave them big eyes and made them look freaky.

I think the original pics on that site were doctored to look worse. Maybe heightened the shadows and played with the contrast.

I was thinking that myself. Kind of like those before and after stomach toning program pictures you see, where the models are obviously slouching to make their belly look more flabby than they actually are!

Or the anti wrinkle cream before shots, where the models frown or screw their eyes up to exaggerate their wrinkles!

on a sort of related note: There was story about a Australian secondary college (hi school) last year, photo shopping student & class photos without consent.

I think it's pretty cool technology (if those before/after pictures are real), not sure why they seem to be marketing it towards the everyday person. It's not like anyone's going to doctor their family photos to put on Facebook. Or maybe they are?

Their slogan should be "Face it, you're hideous. We can almost fix that!"

Those look ridiculous. There is only one picture on there where the after picture is better than the before.

I don't like the "fake" look of it all. Basically all this program does is make you look plastic.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

It's a horrible program because it gets rid of cute freckles.

Agreed!

Little scars, freckles and marks on the skin are actually beautiful to me.

Those edited pictures are indeed creeping me out for its fake and artificial look.

Ewww, why would you get rid of facial modelling? The little indents are what make you beautiful.

This forum has a healthy point of view on beauty, I might add

I noticed some of their examples showed physical alterations to the shape of the face, such as jaw and nose shaping. That's a bit more than a touch-up if you ask me.

I can understand fixing a small mark or something that makes the photo look bad, but this is just too much. Did the child really need anything? It's a child.

Some of these pictures do look considerably better, but most of them need to be toned down a lot. There is a level between grossly porous and made of makeup.
