So, who else is watching it? We had a thread last year for updates and stuff so I thought we could this year too

Nothing too exciting so far anyway, some COD:MW2 footage, new Tomb Raider footage, some stuff on Gears of War 3 and some sports stuff that I couldn\'t care less about Hopefully the other conferences might be a bit better.

Any thoughts?

One thing I'm really interested is CCP's new first person shooter.

If you don't know, CCP are the people who made EVE. The concept of this game is that the PC gamers playing EVE can actually build an army and wage battles on the surfaces of planes. Then, the actual units in the battles are real people, playing the first person shooter on the consoles. PC players controlling console players. Nice idea.

Also. Minecraft is coming to Xbox 360 this winter season!

I thought the Microsoft one was pretty disappointing, mostly all kinect stuff and barely any new games that everyone didn't already see coming. Hopefully Sony will have the usual load of exclusives and, of course, Kevin Butler. Then Nintendo, some sort of third party support for the new console.

MW3 was at the start of MS's one, they're all recorded on Gamespot so you can watch them there until the Ubisoft one starts

same, it just felt really forced, and not particularly like Tomb Raider as we know it. It also annoyed me the way Lara was in a really deadly situation and talking aloud to herself xD no-one does that.

Rayman Origins, very old school 2D platformer, just like the original rayman games, looks pretty good.

A bit dissapointed with both of Ghost Recons. Both are too shooter-like. And where's FPP?

Rocksmith looks sweet, I'll get it if it has bass because I got a bass guitar and I've been trying to find something to help me learn it. The book suck, I can't get a personal trainer because I hate people, so a video game sounds nice.

Reckoning also looks really good. What was it, project director of Morrowind and Oblivion, R.A. Salvatore writing, and...man, I forget the other significant person... >.<

Edit: Found it
"Reckoning is an epic, open world role-playing game that gives fans their first experience with Kingdoms of Amalur, a new universe imagined by R.A. Salvatore, brought to life by Todd McFarlane, and designed by Ken Rolston and his team at Big Huge Games."

Battlefield 3 and Skryim might be the two most beautiful games I've ever seen. And they look like they both play awesome too. I can't wait for those, going to go ahead and say goodbye to my GPA next semester .

Also looking forward to Assassins Creed: Revelations, maybe Mass Effect 3 (although I never played the other two, not a big fan of third person RPG's), Bioshock: Infinite, Modern Warfare 3 (yes, it looks the same as the last 4 games, but it's still a good, polished game, but not on par with BF), and Dead Island.

Missed the Sony conference, it was on at like 3:00

Watching it now then Nintendo's in about 8 hours - should be some more info on project cafe with a bit of luck.

Batman Arkham City- OH MY GOD! Catwoman was revealed as a playable character for select missions with unique abilities and all that crap. You know what this might lead to? Co-op!

Oh and you know how Batman Arkham Asylum had a ton of easter eggs? Well they say there's going to be like a hundred more, which is great for Batman fans. I should start saving up now if I want to get the collector's edition.

Far Cry 3 looked like Far Cry 2...but not good, in my opinion.

And Arkham City... the gameplay was pretty slow-paced as Batman compared to Asylum.

No way I'd get FC3, most likely. FC2 was 65% driving, 15% shooting, 20% misc. It's still a good game, though. Just extremely tedious.
My opinion, anyways...

Agreed. I wasn't too sure of the controller at first either, but after seeing the game lineup for it, I'm rather excited for the system.

I also liked some of the 3DS games, mostly Luigi's Mansion 2 and Tekken.

Wii U seems really impressive, besides the name of course. So much potential. But that is the exact same thing I thought about the Wii when it was first announced, and now we all know how that console played out. My Wii is sitting in a box, unplugged, and only ever used to play Gamecube games.

I have to hand it to Nintendo though. They are constantly bringing new stuff to the table, console-wise.
