I just bought a new external hard drive and am having some trouble setting it up.

It did not appear in windows explorer so I went to Disk management to manually assign a drive letter. However the drive has no name of file format and when I right click on it the only option I get is Help.
A speedy response would be much appreciated and will be compensated with a reward composed of electronic signals of little or no value.

Go into Disk Management again, select your external and go to the partition map. If there are any existing partitions then right click and delete volume. Then right click on the unallocated space and select New Volume. Let it assign whatever drive letter it wants, there is also a box to enter in the volume name, and make sure you check NTFS as the filesystem.

Yes. Is the new drive "Lenovo" there? But yes, this is the right screen. You right click on the drive names in the top half of the window to perform operations.
