For those of you who don't know what Soharix is, you may as well close this thread now you've opened it.

For those of you who do know what Soharix is, you're probably thinking "Blimey, that's older than my dog"

Well, probably not... but whatever.

We're old now, and hope to bring everyone World Off Road this summer so that we actually look like a proper game development team rather than just me with some extra limbs.

Now is also a good time to reminisce and look at our ridiculous failures so I'll be compiling a list of a load of our projects that didn't make it to the WIP board but could have been something if we'd tried.

As well as that, here is a full list of all our failed WIPs:
Abnorm
Marvin the Magician
Vision
Urban Renegade
Chezz
Mamo
Happy Isle

And here are our minor successes:
John
Recre John
Rock Shock 3D
Light Lock
Zone
Soup

Brace yourself, there's a lot of em.

I will only post projects which are under 50mb and all these files will be .rars

All these projects are fails so don't expect them to work 100% or anything, and there's no use bug reporting for them either because I'll never finish them or already know the bugs.

If it moans about not finding a resolution or something when it starts up, try going into User/User data and finding Options.cfg and changing the top 2 numbers to a resolution you want to play at. (Most of them were made to default to 1440x900 (my native resolution))

First up is Oceanland

Oceanland came about from an internal competition we had in Soharix to make a boat/ship tycoon type game. (Blobby 101 may show you his entry if he feels like it. )
(Oceanland basically resembles Transport Tycoon's shipping part: you can build docks and boats and stuff)

Yeah, I'd put Seabound up here but I think it may have disappeared into thin air about a year ago xD I'll see if i can find it somewhere.

Second project to showcase is Desert Front

It was seen many moons ago in TGC's gallery and was designed to be like an MMO FPS.

Just make up whatever you want for login and password, they've been disabled in this build.

Next up is Bill

This was meant to have the same kind of tone as the John series but aimed more at copying the original Call Of Duty games.

If you want to try another map change the following file names and re-run the game:
Maps\Testmap.map to Maps\Mission1.map
Objects\Testmap.x to Objects\Mission1.x

Base of Fire (Original version)

I don't know what inspired this but I since played things like AlienSwarm which inspired the later version of Base of Fire below...

Base Of Fire (New pretty version)

This was me basically attempting to copy AlienSwarm to the best of my abilities but of course we didn't quite finish so it's just John running around an empty map with a flame thrower that doesn't work.

Requires Ageia PhysX drivers or nVidia stuff to work or something... :S

Chinaland

I think I was watching too much original Dragonball and just wanted to copy the hills around where Goku grows up.

And I did so in the Desert Front engine.

(Have fun with the console commands cycle, day and night by the way in both Desert Front and this.)

@ Joeeigel
You should post RC Boat Racer - It was your project. xD

Dark Life

I don't even know why I made this, I could have never used it. I guess I just wanted to see what Half Life would have looked like if I made it in the Vision engine.

Planet Force

This was basically an attempt at a proper shooter, with actual enemies and actual guns with actual ammo, not just some half effort where most of it didn't work.

This could very easily be made into a full game, we just thought it was a bit samey and boring.

John's Adventure

This was an attempt at reviving the John series properly by making him move properly and giving the game some depth but it failed too and didn't even make it to the WIP board.

It's made in the Vision engine, you could actually replace the objects I think and have the Vision robot walking around in this and vice versa.

Hah, don't worry so did we.

We tried to remake Vision twice after the WIP died. xD

This attempt had the original boxes, shaders and proper effects like water, smoke and fire:

Next project is Rupture (Even we tried making a Space Sim)

Umm... I think it's basically just an intro then fly around in space... If you find your way out the spaceport that is. xD

May I take this opportunity to hi-jack your thread and say that I have just turned five years old myself! On the forums

Congrats on your continual outliving of myself.

I thought Dark Life looked a bit like Half Life, and btw I always look at the pictures first so there was no logical thinking going on.
