I made a website with some pics and details. The systems are built on a mini-itx form factor.

There's two different cases, the smaller one is an Atom system with no cd-rom.

Curious to know what others think of the designs and if there are any changes you'd make to them.

Interesting. Looks pretty nice. How will you manufacture the case or is this proprietary info?

looks sleek though, the stands where the USB ports are can, unforunatley, be accurately described as "Nobbly Bits". I'd lose them

I like the design but I'd put more USBs in the front and a card reader.

The slot under the power button is for SD cards. As for the USB ports, I had a thought of moving them to the bottom of the case, where a little thing pops open and drops the ports down. (i'll have to whip up a pic) As for the number of ports, I can't do more than 2 because of the mini-itx board limitations.

I'm still trying to decide how I want to fabricate the case. A sheet of aluminum would be easier to bend I think, but some white acrylic with careful heating would look better. I'm considering making the outer shell one solid piece (acrylic will make a more seamless join once bent), and having a motherboard tray which can be slid out the back for easy installation.

@Autobot, the case was modeled in studio max 9.

What do you guys think about the lack of a CD-rom on the Atom-based version?

Lack of a CD rom is really no big deal - I have a netbook, and it's never caused me any problems, unless I have to install an OS again - but external USB CD rom drives are handy to have around, just in case. Plus, I've found that CD drives are becomming less and less reliable - so having a spare that you can just plug into anything is a good idea.

I think that your right about acrylic - plus if you use tubes for the round edges, you can easily hide any ugly joins. Maybe a metal mesh for the front and back, easy to cut, bend and fit, and good for air flow.

That's fine as long as you have a netboot option.
