Quote: "they really should close one story, before starting another. Based on the fact Half-life 1's Story was completely separate to Half-Life 2"
they did spoiler:
destroyed the citadel and interrupted the transmission cutting off combine from any support and communication with their homeworld or other citadels. It will be a while before remanant combine forces around city 17 reorgonise, contact other citadels so they can contact their homeworld(s) i am sure combine have an enormous space empire and even the advisors are proboly not the actual combine. I wonder what the actual combine are the ones at the very top i mean.
so it sort of ended the combine/city 17 part of the story, setting the stage for the next chapter i am sure the combine galactic almost never suffered such a defeat like in city 17 so they will proboly turn it up a noch and get ready for a serios new offence proboly instead of letting humans die on their own they would start an onslaught gencide. The story with Gman however was just hacked off and because of that i feel that it needs another episode. Really i think the HL2 story would have a much better flow if there were more episodes because it seemes like its not worth making episodic expansions just to make 2 of them. I would have liked it if there was at least 5 episodes. then the title of "episode" would live up to its name like how many shows do you know that have only 2 or 3 episodes? at least 5 good episodes are enough to make a good story for a show or a game. If they are doing half life 3 next, HL2 series would be better off being called hl2 part 1, hl2 part 2 and hl2 part 3 making part 2 and 3 longer like an actual game instead of an expansion.
Also another reason why i am all for episodic content right now is this. Take a look at hl1 vs HL2. its like completley different. There was no combine in HL1 Humans just stumbled upon some remote outpost of the combine galactic empire (i call it that because it sounds awesome) HL1 was kindof vauge on who these aliens are and where they are from. and then in halflife 2 BOOM! there was actually an entire militarized force behind that small vortagon outpost which black mesa stumbled upon 20 years ago. HL2 was like complete plot twist. people who played HL1 before HL2 (i didnt

) were proboly awed by this unexpected turn of events. so if there is gonna be a half life 3. i think it should have a similar unexpected turn of events. Maybe combine is in a cold war with another galactic superpower that decide to take earth from the combine because earth ritch in resourses and habitable and in HL3 in an unexpected turn of events the combine forget about humans because this another space empire decided to go on the offensive and like a war breaks out between combine and the other guys and humans are caught in between. And THEN in half life 4 the story takes freeman out into space on stolen combine spaceship and it turns out that there is an epic galaxy-wide war between combine and like 2 more superpowers and at the end you find out that that galactic war broke out because everyone wants to take over earth so like 3 or 4 superpowers are fighting for it. and in half life 5 gordon freeman, in order to save earth he will need to go and kick everyones assto stop them from taking over earth
dont hate people who rip you off, cheat and get away with it, learn from them
