@ Ched80, That timer script worked perfect,

And so as you mentioend about a visible timer, that would be even better, and cus i think that is an addon to the script i would be glad for you to use another credit of mine, cus you guys deserve to be payed for your time
And so that would be classed as two scripts cus i can use one without a visible timer and one with a visible time.

And also what about one that will allow a sound to be played at lets say 30 seconds before final countdown, as i could add a wav sound file of some sound or speach that says your running out of time!
and that can be for another credit too

Ok as for weather i will get and put together some media for you!
Basilcy i think this will have to be done in 3 scripts,

As one part would be a timer for the lights that has this script to turn off and to activate another light,

Example Light (A) turns of at a given time, and then Light (B) activates. So this will allow for day and night effect. and so no decals needed

Part 2 of weather system, Will require a script to activate my rain or snow and use a sound file, that can be activated using the (plrdistwithin) command, as this will suite the effect better, So like your on one side of a hill and on the other side when you get their the weather starts to change by using my first decal and so i can ajust the script to suite another decal that i have that woul be used on other side of hill. The hills is only an example!

Round up of part 2 :
a Script to activate an entity when in range and to stop when out of range, and also allow for a sound file to be played in a loop at the same time when in the same plrdistwithin.

Part 3 script:
if this can be done, and that is for the ambience to change up or down by a timer or even by a trigger

Can you remember my Complex Proximity mine script you done for me? well you could use that and modify it justt to activate an Entiy without it going "KaBooM"!

If you need the mine script i can email it to you ASAP

@ 2Beastmode4u, I can provide media, but realy it could just activate any stock entity to test with. and so when done i will try with a stock entity and then with my entity, and that way if i have a problem then i will know that it is down to my item, and not with the script its self, and putting that aspect out of the equation.

Oh i almost forgot, i have not received the Slow down script yet

are you saying its possible to respawn the same enemy / entity / model(s) using different triggers ( after enemy has been killed by player and then player leaves area .. then player returns to area and uses new trigger to activate respawn of dead enemies ) im wanting to reuse entities / models ...

Thanks Ched80 i got the email

Just to mention is that fpsc has a major bug when using respawns, and that is a lot of stock Entities will disapere/vanish if you do not have a non spawning character of same type in your map,

Also i have attached an image of settings for Respawning by Delay, Note the Appear2 script should be used.

As for lights i can make them go on and of by using trigger zone and existing scripts, but realy need to have it done by using the (plywithindist) command then that way i don't hjave to have so many triggers.

And so they would if postioend correctly allow for tug off war action,
Meaning if your closer to trigger A then trigger B does not activate and vise versa as it only works when your within range of that trigger, Hence i would putt the trigger near the activating light.

So as not to confuse any more i need a switch that works by being in the area of the light.
Or even better to increase and decrease the Ambeiance light, that would be more perfect for me. Please could you look into the ambeiance light as first option or even make a new script just for that as i don't mind.

Hi 2beast, if posible could it be changable in the script

idealy i would like to have triggers that can be differant just by changing a setting/value

Meaning if i use lets say Trigger 1 to reduce ambience by 20% or to a value of 80% from out of its 100% , and then as time goes by it reduces to another 20% or to a value of 60% and so on untill it get to a value of a threshold of IE 16% or whatever the last setting was changed to, if that makes sense

Ok here is a more simple term, Not to be rude

so a Player gets to within range of a trigger, Example

plrdistwithin=300
to activate the change in Ambience.
And so the ambience reduces or increases by a value or percentage as set in the script when within the area/range of the trigger.

i have loads of clouds i have made, they are in segments and also in entities, and decals

so what im needing is for the entities to float, and thats it Simple's i did see the float command but not sure how to put together.

This will also be part of the weather system

have not heard anything about this request in a while


new troubles ( waypoints)

right now im usisng ww2 stock characters
they work great as long as i dont set them to respawn
if i change respawn numbers > Max at a time/Max to spawn/number to spawn
the enemy stand there, wont follow waypoints ... ????

having similar problems if using task force 341 characters ..
if change respawn number, upon respawn only his gun show ..
enemy is just black shadow on floor ( and wont die)


so .. new script request

waypoint script ... enemy patrol / chase / shoot / repawn > repeat

want to be able to repawn enemy ( after killed by player )

want the enmey to restart waypoint patrol after the respawn

i would probably place triggers in front of
entrance or exit of area wanting the entity to spawn / respawn
most of the time player would be looping back into a main room to battle

Hey, I'm thinking of hiring you to set up a whole system of scripts for a game, but it would require some time I think. I was wondering if you'd be willing to do that, and an estimated price; it has to do with a point\money system, but done a little differently then the ones that have been released on this forum.

@angusm3, I made a little tool called "Maptastic" that allowd non-linear level progression - have a look to see if that will do what you want. If not we'd be happy to create a script for you.

That should work fine, as long as the weapons don't glitch like the last one I tried. Thank you so much for making that!

Now, I've noticed a lot of scripting commands for 1.18 that force the player to look a certain direction. Would you be able to script something with those to make a player do call of duty style things? Basically forcing the player to look around and disabling the mouse briefly.

Now that I have your attention, is it possible to change skyboxes per level with an ingame script? I know about the level settings edit workaround already though.

Hi ched,

I have tried using the drifty script along with the windsimulation, using a floor segment as mentioend in email.#

But the entity just stays there and rotates.

Also could i have a request for same type of script but to also move a Decal as well, I would be very greatfull.

Just to mention! if you are able to have this script working, Could you do a basic map demo, with lets say 10 squares using generic floor and for the entity just use the ww2 Breifcase.

Or would you like me to send a map with same contents and the way i have setup the trigger and entity, so you can see if i have done anything wrong.

Sent a follow up email to Christopher on Sep 15 2011, Ill just give you a pointer, when someone sends an email, it is better practice, and more professional to reply when you received it, telling the sender of your plans, example, we are looking at this, I will get back in a few days time, rather than saying nothing at all, and then a week later making contact with what you have found from trying things out, otherwise the client has no idea you even got the mail, or what you are doing, if anything is being done or what is possible, and has to wait a full week to find out if you even got the email.

Developers plan what they are doing, time is very important, events work in a chain, and that chain can be held back when the flow of information is interrupted.

@spudnick, I build dedicated maps for all scripts for this very possibility, but your has got corrupted somehow and now I can't get the scripts to work. I'll re-build it and get something to you in a few days.
