It's not Spiderman 4. It's a whole new series, I'm pretty sure starting from the beginning. In this one he can climb onto surfaces but he has mechanical web shooters, which is a big nostalgic reference.

I'm getting sick of these super hero movies in general, so I don't really care that they have a different lead actor. However, I like Andrew Garfield, so it probably won't be too bad.

I was getting really tired with the Spiderman films by the time they got to... did they make 3? I cant even remember what happened in the second one. But this looks like a nice fresh start, and I never liked toby maguire

I'm not thrilled about a Spiderman reboot whatsoever. Toby Maguire was the perfect Peter Parker IMO and this new guy does not look the part to me at all.

Of the million super heroes to choose from... why are they doing a reboot of Spiderman already?!

So it can fit into the story of the new Avengers movie eventually.

Cheesehead for life.

Was Spiderman an Avenger?

And they did already do a Hulk and Iron Man reboot, and at the end of Hulk Mr. Stark (Iron Man) came up to him and asked to talk to him.

So I could see an Avenger movie.

Let me just say...

that Spiderman (all 3), is one of the

WORST

films ever made.

So on that note, I just think this is a sad attempt to revive a horrible franchise

I think you're thinking of the Captain America movie? Once that's out, four of the original six will have been introduced (Captain America, Iron Man, The Hulk and Thor), although the other two (Ant-Man and Wasp) have kinda fallen off the radar so there'll probably be some diferent heroes on the roster, maybe Spiderman and Wolverine, á la the most recent comic series.

To be fair I would love to see Ant-man and Wasp, to keep it to the original avengers.

He's probably not... Given that there is a teaser trailer of The Avengers floating around the net and you can find info on the movie on IMDB and see all the characters as well.

Hawkeye, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, are the superheroes who are in it. Well, and Nick Fury too.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0848228/

There's the IMDB page of it.

Also, in the credits of Thor... it states, "Thor will return in 2012 with the Avengers."

I thought everyone knew this!!! lol.

The first one was ok, and there not all on the same level, it gets worse the farther you get.

I think you just answered your own question

Spiderman 3 was the only one I'd say I really didn't care for. The story was all over the place and the casting for Brock(Venom) was just a terrible choice. And Maguire's whole "emo" scene was just terrible and should've been cut.

This new spiderman looks interesting, although I think it's a bit premature to reintroduce the series. I think captain america looks like it'll be interesting, at least more so than Thor was.

Transformers 3 turned out to be another let down. Critics rated it poorly but fans gave it high marks. But this is one film I agreed with the critics after seeing it. Cool effects, but this entire saga hasn't really thrilled me much.

Bringing all the Marvel movies together is kind of cool, I look forward to that. And I never saw that in the Thor credits. I'm going to see Captain America this weekend, and hopefully there will be another Avengers reference in there too, because the name of the movie is... The First Avenger.

haha I'm from Britain and wasn't behind

but I'm not too fussed about an Avengers film, just stumbled across the trailer, were the comics any good?

Well I am more of a DC person myself, but the Justice League always seemed silly to me because it's not real. I know none of it's real but just the fact that all their universe's that can't possibly coexist suddenly do. Like if Batman was real in Superman universe, he would have heard about him over the news, and so on and so on. I don't know if they have some greater reason in the Avengers but I assume they don't. So overall, no, I never liked the comics and Crossovers never end well.

What I think is kinda odd is the fact that Marval comics in general are 10x better and more popular than DC, however, DC comics have the Batman and Superman anomalies which are incredibly popular for decades in the movies and toys and games. Even X-men can't compare to the popularity of Batman.

Because the comics don't mean anything compared to movies and toys when it comes to popularity. I read Batman comics but most kids just watch the movies, and that's DC's strong-suit.

At the time I saw the first I thought it was quite good. This one will be better though.
Spiderman 2 and 3 were terrible, and at the same time long and tedious.

Just saw Captain America... after the credits, the trailer for the Avengers plays.

Damn, it looks awesome. Thor and Iron Man in the same movie alone is crazy awesome.

I guess that's a little off topic, but spiderman is marvel so I figured I'd post anyways lol.

Has this become the superhero movie thread? That wouldn't be too off topic, since the Spiderman movie is the superhero movie all over the news. Anyway, how is Captain America? In comparison to other superhero movies? I'm planning on going to the theater this week or next week to see Captain America or Crazy Stupid Love.

I can't wait to see Captain America. IT LOOKS AMAZING!

2nd half of Spider-Man trailer was balls. The CG was awful. If they include anything remotely like that in the movie then it's going to be embarrasing to watch.

Captain America was incredibly cheesey and full of cliche. It was just okay. Far from amazing, that's for sure. I thought it was going to be better, but it was overall a good movie.

I agree. I don't like the new spiderman and mary jane doesn't look like mary jane.
