I've noticed in my task manager that my Firefox 4 slowly uses up more and more memory, even if I load an html file(like DBP help files) directly into Firefox and view them offline. There is no reason that viewing an offline html file should take up that much memory. After about a day or so, I've noticed as much as 750,000K usage of memory, and the number continues to climb! It appears FF4 has some kind of memory leak!

Read here, and here, and here.

Those are all from their own support site. Why won't they fix this!?!? Instead, it seems to get worse with each release!!! This is so bad, I might just find another browser! Maybe even IE! It's slower, but it doesn't eat nearly the resources that FF does.

I'm going to try some of the methods prescribed here. If that doesn't work, I'm switching browsers. Maybe anyone reading this topic and using FF should check into this if they are having sluggish computer syndrome while they have a browser up.

Hope this helps anyone else using Firefox.

Amo.

I've played that game many times and never had a memory leak!

In all seriousness, though, I use IE because it gives me the least hassle. I've also found that, in Windows at least, IE is the quickest to respond to memory shortage and free up resources.
