As far as I remember, the song originally had a text that was about a cowboy that finally came back to his home and girl, but the sowjet' censors didn't want to air that, since they thought it was to american and thus he had to "sing" that.

However! When it comes to "weird" songs, I can't resist to mention this masterpiece:

A few years ago, a bunch of scientists set out to create the most "wanted" and "unwanted" songs. After surveying people on qualities they most disliked in a song, they concocted this baby:

dude.. the trololo guy is like the the russian rick astley. he actually made a killing off his internet fame, people actually respect him, he usnt just an internet gag like rickroll. Also, i heard that he actually had some lyrics, but apperentley they were inappropriate or something, so the censorship agency didnt let him publish records unless he he changes the words or something, but the dude was too worked up and just desided to sing the tune without the words. Maybe its just an urban legend, i domt really know

Full story: He was a pretty popular Russian singer back in the 60's and 70's. The Trololo song had lyrics, but they were deemed too un-Soviet, so a lot was censored. And, now he's famous again for the song.
