One of my machines has limited expansion slots and the PCI slot is already in use - so I dug up an old USB sound card. While there is an accompanying driver + software suite from the manufacturer, it doesn't work on Windows 7 nd I have no use for it anyway.
So on one machine (Windows 7 Ultimate) I plug it in, it detects and installs the drivers, and I have full control over the volume etc. from the controls on the device itself as well as getting an output. Ie. it works 100%.
On another machine (Windows 7 Ultimate) I plug it in, it detects and installs drivers, I get an output from it, but I am unable to get any of the controls to function correctly.
Both are basically fresh installs of Windows so I have no idea why the controls would work on one and not the other. Any ideas?
