Just stumbled across this video on unlimited graphical detail with unlimited polygons. Someone posted the first one about a year ago, but since then nothing new has been released about it. Fortunately, it looks like it's still on the right track. I don't quite understand it, but just the results they're producing and the fact that they continue to produce better results over time is a good indicator it's not just a tech demo or theory, but I wish they would explain more how it's done. I still don't understand how you can have so much data without using petabytes of storage.

I'm sure some will still claim it's fake, but what they show there looks like an incredibly difficult thing to fake, especially since they show significant progress from last year.

just, before it get locked: you do realise you can do all that in a 3d software and then prerender it?
