Quote: "To me it's undeniable: If they give it a bad review, the publisher won't give them an early review opportunity for their next product. They need these early reviews to get exclusivity and get viewers reading their magazines. So they will always give it a good review, because to badly review it is to forgo any future exclusives from that publisher. So that is undoubtedly biased."
But again, you're just assuming that this happens with PC Gamer

I know many examples where magazines and online review sites screw themselves over because they refuse to give high reviews for exclusivity. 1UP, for example, messed up their relationship with Ubisoft a few years back because they didn't review the original Assassin's Creed well.
Quote: "So for me, the fact I can no longer get harsh honest reviews from magazines is a big shame."
Just go to the myriad online sites that post unbiased game reviews. Destructoid and Giant Bomb comes to mind.
EDIT:
If you can prove to me that a magazine gave a high review simply for bribes, then I'll concede. It's all opinion
