Is there a way to buy a domain name for a super cheap price, that just redirects you to a different webhost? I figure it would be cheaper then paying for the webhost I currently use (for the adfree version, ect).

So I want:

www.djalmix.com

to take a person to

www.wix.com/dj_almix/dj-almix

The term you are looking for is "cloaking". Search for that facility in any package you subscribe to.

Who is your domain handler? some domain handlers do not allow or bother to include certain features... not a lot can be said here to be honest...

Anybody want to fill in why using flash is incredibly terrible for a Web-site?

Hey Almix hows it going

So your saying you can not control your current domain name? or you mean you did not buy a domain name yet... eitherway yeah it is as said already... find a domain site that allows framed redirecting... but bare in mind wix may not allow their sites to be viewed this way... if you just want a plain redirect that should be achievable anywhere... and remember if your looking for cheap .com is not the way to go specially as you are required to pay to have your personal details hidden... this includes your name address and contact details if any given to be seen publically.

You don't want to do this for SEO reasons.

It'd be much better to setup a 301 (permanent) redirect for your domain name. This means, when a user goes to your fancy domain, it changes in their browser to your wix address.

Might I recommend buying your domain from gandi.net. They're probably as expensive as it gets for domains (15-20 bucks), but they're so crazy good at everything they do it's completely worth it. They also throw in a load of freebies that other places charge for.

Gandi offers 301 redirects free with a domain. In your domain control panel, it's under web forwarding. Choose permanent redirect as the option.

If you ever change website hosts in the future, they also offer free dns hosting.
