Dropbox is awesome for small files. You only get 2GB free, but you get given direct links.

It wasn't made for file hosting, but if you want direct downloads for smaller files, it's the best around. It's also *really* good for image hosting, see below

MediaFire is best, you have unlimited storage space but you are limited to 200mbs per upload.

My Mind is very odd, it can memorize hundreds of commands, memorize 2 dictionary's worth of words, and make detailed 3D models. Yet my mind has trouble with the most simple calculations.

Downloading from megauploads is such a hastle. If you don't have their premium account, you have to wait before doing anything, with mediafire, all you gotta do is click and download. Or, Amazon's got a free file hosting service now, i think you get 2 or 3 GBs free, you could use that.

Looking at myself after reading this thread a few times... then looking at my web hosting packages... looks at bandwidth... see how many ftp accounts I have... realise nobody likes something for free...

Go for Dropbox should be plenty and you do not need to install the local app if you do not want to you can use it online too.
