So I decided it was time to overhaul my system and buy upgraded hardware. I head over to Newegg, and buy over $700 worth of new hardware (listed below for those interested in knowing). I figure since I already spent a lot on the hardware, I would use UPS instead of FedEX, which I love more than my own family (actually, not really).

My chief complaints are never really with UPS, it's with their tracking. I tend to fall victim to constant track watching, as most other people do. It was nice and humid in my house, and I woke up at 4 in the morning. I figure it's time to get my day started and I could slam out some coding for someone before I go to work.

I check my email, then my shipping status. Now Newegg's most annoying feature, is they use multiple shipping centers. I know it's to keep products flowing efficiently, but the problem is they arrive on different days. They shipped my new case from New Jersey.

Anyway, so I check my status on my parts package (everything but the case), and it says, "Out for delivery." I thought to myself, "Oh yeah, now I can build it after work!" The I noticed it changed. UPS decided to ship it to my local hub...this was 15 minutes ago. There is no way by the time it reaches my hub, that they'll be able to load it all on the trucks.

Oh well, I'm off tomorrow, so it should be there along with my case.

I much prefer FedEX. Their tracking is nearly instant and real-time, their service has generally been faster in my area.

TL;DR Version: UPS tracking fails, and is slow as normal.

Oh, the PC hardware:

-AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz.
-GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+
-Ripjaws X Series 8GB DDR3 1866
-Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB
-APEVIA 700W PSU
-Rosewill FUTURE Gaming ATX Mid Tower
-2TB HDD (coming sometime later this week).

That would probably mean more to us if you said where you're at

If you're talking about this UPS, which I assume you are, it's a U.S. company.

I think any company that can get stuff shipped cross-country in several days is an awesome company.

I guess it was frustrating for you, but UPS order tracking has always been correct for me. Besides their order tracking... I wouldn't even know what to say if someone asked whether UPS or FedEx ships faster. I haven't been able to tell a difference.

The tracking was only a little slow catching up once with my experience with Newegg. However, I am more happy to suffer a tad slow tracking considering it never took more than 3 days for a product to arrive using free shipping. I even had a case + psu ship from California and it arrived 3 days later for free! I can't complain

Never had a problem with them; tracking my packages was also easy.

I prefer UPS over FedEx because I've had the same problems you're having, but with FedEx. I wouldn't judge so quickly, but it happens almost all the time because my neighborhood is still unlisted on their GPS or whatever they use to find my house. I always have to give them physical directions. UPS however, Idk how...but I don't have to do that.

And call me whatever you want, I prefer the USPS over both. Only for 1 reason. In my experience, it ships just as fast as the other 2, but there is 1 huge difference. USPS delivers on Saturday...giving me one more day in the week. If I order something on MOnday, I'll get it Friday or the next Monday in UPS or FedEx. With USPS, it's Friday or Saturday. Although it depends on where it's shipping from, but UPS has taken 4 days to deliver a package from Illinois (I'm in Missouri), while USPS was the standard 3 days.

Also I like to support the mail when I can

At least they're not like DHL who delivered my Mac Pro at a completely different time than specified, dropped it, signed for it themselves and then did a runner.

That's all they did?

I prefer USPS as well. Always professional, never monkeys with my packages. Good tracking and fast.

I've never had a problem with any mailing company. They all have delivered my packages within a time period they gave me.

Dropped it, as in dropped the package down the 10ft concrete verge at the side of our house! Admittedly the packaging was shocking - but still.

I used to work for a call center for a popular commerce website. The horror stories I heard about DHL were numerous.

Usually, it was just a case of DHL coming 3 weeks late with banged up and destroyed electronics.

I did hear a story once of UPS dropkicking a package onto a second story balcony. I believe it to be true cuz you just can't make this kind of stuff up.

Nobody is as bad as Canada Post. They never guarantee a time of delivery, which is one of the reasons why Netflix isn't available there in a physical disc plan of any kind.

Eh, USPS is pretty bad.

I worked seasonal work in a UPS warehouse in New Stanton, PA before. Your packages take more damage than you think. Like I said, FedEx is much faster in my area, and they actually take more than 2 seconds to see if you're home instead of dropping the package and running.

Also, built the new PC, she runs GREAT.
