I just purchased Cosmic Prophet's scify pack 4 and love it, but my lights I put in the game are not showin up in the halways and rooms. I believe it is due to the fact that I most likley didn't put bond 1's shaders in the correct place. So could some one please tell me where exactly they go.

Thanks

P.S.
I did not have a ps_3_0 folder so I just made one. IDK if this is what I should have done or not.

Here is the directory path that should be in your files folder, that points to the shader.

files\effectbank\ps_3_0\segments\norm_spec_tangentbasis.fx

@cosmic Prophet

I must apologise as this is completely off topic, but, i am at a loss! I really need your help with a model i am looking to create! 'm not asking you to do for it for me. I am merely looking for your wisdom! I know you have created a tut to show people how to create meshes and how to UV map, but, i am trying to create a Cryogenic Chamber that contains a lot of glass and that i can amend the 'ID number' on the side to give the impression of multiple chambers.

If you can help, please contact me.....i don't know if i am allowed to put my email here??

ok so im still having that proble. On top of that half the time when i make a test level to see what i could be doing wrong with the segments I will end up spawning way outside of the map in an invisiable room. I can look to the right and see wat rooms and hallways I have placed, but I cant get to them. I got the lights and everything to work fine once. And I know I have placed all the shaders correctly. Anybody know what could be wrong?

Try This: Open the level you made, and add a small floor anywhere on the map, using the common grey floor segment. It can even be outside of a room or wall and thus not seen. Start your test game. You should be good to go with the remainder of your level.

Let me know if this works for you. (Does for me).

cool this worked, thanks. But for some reason my lights don't work yet. I set the ambiant level to zero and then add lights, and the lights dont show up on the segments. Im pretty sure I have the shaders in the right places. IDK ill double check though.

Thanks again

Great. Good luck. Lighting is an art in itself.

Whooh! Ok, it looks like the segment is not reading the "D" textures. Be sure to check all segments and entities you use in the level. I have come across a similar problem. I discovered that when using the tangent basis shader, "all" objects that are assigned a shader, has to have "All" the proper textures needed for that shader, and assigned properly. If not (if even one object is not asigned properly) it can cause strange anomolies like this one.

Start by checking the directory path of assigned textures of all objects used, and be sure you have the complete set(D,D2,N,I) in the proper directory for the segments. And check all your entities as well. I'm pretty sure there is something in your level that is not assigned properly, is in the wrong place, or is missing a texture.
