Brilliant.

It was a joke, there's nothing wrong with using your laptop in a kitchen.

Lol, I was making reference to TGC's infamous troll of the mythical 'early days', Zenincanin14 who's widely known for his "I HATE BOOK" speech. But goes to show how original the old troll was. He couldn't code (except C++, which only has 2 version, VB, which stands for Visual Basic NOT Dark Basic and Assembly, which is like the hardest programming language ever!*), he couldn't read books and it seems apparent he couldn't make his own jokes.

I would also like to make it known, I have NEVER watched Seinfeld. There, that's my reputation cleared.

Is it me or have people went off-topic to quite an extent?

But I do agree with the points that you make Adrien. The most important part of the job is that its fun!

In a round about way...yes. Unless of course not watching Seinfeld is a good reason to be an Indie Game Designer, or not trolling the TGC forums, but learning to code and reading books to help you instead...I'm sure I could lawyer a reason into making it on topic, but we'd all know I'd be BSing.

Also, coding is a good motive to stop posting tripe in this thread, I just downloaded the AppGameKit Trial so I shall not ruin this topic further!

#1 i was inspired by numerous games and movies
#2 for some reason, those insparations pushed me into wanting to create something of my own on the same epic scale (eventually gotta remeber slow steps)
#3 its hard to get started programming in DB, but once i do its insanley addicting!
#4 DB is easy enough for me to get almost instunt results, easy enough to be used by 1 person
#5 i wanted to express some of my artwork trough a game i would eventually make
#6 Designing the game, making up the charecters and setting, weriting a storyline is fun (programming all of it into the game is the least fun part but if its dark basic i can live with it
#7 that awesome feeling you get when you accomplish something while programming, or finally fixed that annoying bug, or finally figured out how to make something in the game work! That feeling is like you conquered a god even tho its something really small and insignificant.
#8 I love all of you guys! the whole TGC community!, even tho i dont really contribute much (i contributed like 2 or 3 times to actual dark basic/ programming subject the rest is just me screwing around in the geek culture)
#9 I have respect for the Mods here! they arent jerks like most other forum boards
#10 .... cheespie!

dont hate people who rip you off, cheat and get away with it, learn from them

I second that. They are an enjoyable bunch and they don't take themselves too serious. Except for Thraxas who is to blame for everything.

Oh? What are you working on?

well i mean like visual instun results, since it has a builtin rendering engine, There is less tinkering around in the render code like on real engines that hte big boys use I DONT KNOW i had no luck with stuff like visual studio.
