I have recently imported trees from treemagik, and am bugged to see that when my tree is static, it only displays the wood texture and not the leaf texture. When i make the tree "dynamic" i am happy that the texture worked but not the fact that i can move the tree around.

And a quick one: Why do my tree leafs look like paper with leafs drawn on them? When i load them in dbpro and set alpha mapping to 1 they seem to work fine but not in fps creator.

Additional details: I am currently using windows 7 as an os, and have fps creator v1.18

All help is appreciated!!!

Ok so when you created your leaves did you in the leaves properties try other styles, other than the normal, i like to use the Xstyle for fps creator.

when you change settings for the tree set it to dynamic and make sure Isimobile is set to Yes
or you could change the physics weight value to somthing realy high.

A tip, when making trees that you need to walk by, i would make the branches high enough so you can walk under and then you can just set as stactic, other than that, you can use the appear_nocollision.fpi script and then you can walk through them,

I know thats not ideal but it is easy to do. and then you could export just the trunk and then have that with collision on and merge that into existing tree, a pain in the but to do, and would be a nightmare if you had many type to do.

I'am not GOD but i can make you see again by taking my fingers out of your eyes and i can make you walk again by taking your beer away, but if you take my beer you will not walk again

Well thats the thing, i was originaly going to make a map with all static objects so that i can export it into dark basic pro (dbpro does not like the dynamic objects). And i really am trying to avoid the whole dynamic body thing and make everything static. But other than that if their is any other thing that i could do please feel free to answer!

Anyway thanks for your help spudnik, much appreciated!

Dam sorry i am tired, had 16 hour day of media creation,

Basicly all you have to do is sett the physics weght to lets say 99999

and make sure the isimobile is set to Yes,

and your ready to go.

unless you need to remove the collision, then just change the appear script appear1.fpe to appear_nocollision.fpe

then you should be all done.

also note on the exported tree.X file folder, there will be 2 version/copies, one with the lo_ at the begining is a low poly low qaulity version, and the other one is a high qaulity one, so do make sure that you are using the high quality one,

So far i have not noticed this problem yet, but then i havn't realy needed to look for it. but i think if all else fails for you i will have a good dig around and see what can be done.

I'am not GOD but i can make you see again by taking my fingers out of your eyes and i can make you walk again by taking your beer away, but if you take my beer you will not walk again

Like i said, i am trying to make all objects static since dbpro does not like dynamic objects . I have tried setting the physics weight to 99999, setting the main script to appear no collision and immobile to yes but that does not solve the fact that i want it static.

As for the trees looking like black paper with leaves drawn on them im not sure what to do.
Other than that thanks for all the help!

If you want to make your trees static then you cant use multiple textures in FPSC.
If your trees are static then there there is no need to concern yourself with physics, weight or otherwise.
If your trees are static you cant apply a nocol script to it.
If DBP doesnt like dynamic objects how do you intend to get animated objects into your game? FPSC was written in DBP
If your trees are not showing transparency then you probably didnt export the texture with an alpha channel.

Take a look at other trees which do work in FPSC, look at the texture for them and UV map your objects instead of using multiple textures.

I know these have been used by a lot of folks around here and they work just fine. Take a look at them.
