I don't know if anyone here has watched Spartacus: Blood and Sand, but Andy Whitfield, the main actor who played Spartacus just died yesterday from cancer.
Spartacus, as some may know from a thread created long ago, is my all time favorite show. The character development was done so flawlessly that I truly gained a connection to the characters on the show.

Andy Whitfield passing away is hands down been the saddest celebrity death to me. He portrayed Spartacus so amazing, and it was his first big role as an actor.

RIP Andy. I will watch Spartacus: Vengeance in your honor.

Yes I saw this news yesterday. Very saddening. I LOVED him in Spartacus.

The actor replacing him wont have to be changed too much to look like him.

Great actor, and from what I know, a great person. RIP Andy.

Regards,

Max

Very sad. I was hoping we would recover and play Spartacus again.

A friend lent me the DVD a while back and I only got round to watching the first 2 episodes on sunday night. Great stuff and a complete shock that I find out he has died the next day...

Also turns out he was born just up the road from where I grew up (Anglesey). Infact he is only a year older than me or so. If he stayed in the same area (didn't move to Australia until 1999) then he probably didn't go to the same school as me but my next door neighbour was the deputy headmaster in the village he was born in, so he almost definitely knew him.

RIP to from what little I saw a very good actor.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing
