I thought this was quite a nice animation worth sharing on the 2D board.

If you go to his site http://conteanimated.com, there is even a nice documentary of creating the animation.

Hopefully a lot of others like myself who are aspiring 2D artists can learn a thing or two from the human form in this animation when sketching for games.

At around 7:22 in the making of "The Figure" on his site, it shows the software he's using. It Backs out enough at 7:47 and other times to possibly tell the app.

Your signature has been erased by a mod please reduce it to 600 x 120.

Yeah, it's Photoshop, I just didn't know it could do that. It's very hard with a mouse anyway, so useless without a tablet.

It's flash, you can tell by the keyframes and the big red flash logo at the top. Flash supports onionskinning and is actually a very nice to animate with. Also obviously on a cintiq... Lucky bastard, i've been after one of those for years...

Anyway, the animation is beautiful, actually touched me more than I thought it would.

Which version of Flash is it? I couldn't find one with that layout. It looks like Photoshop quite a bit...

Check above the fill tool.

This is the bone tool which was included in flash from CS4 i believe. As far as I know, photoshop doesn't have this.
More proof.

Here is the timeline from photoshop (that I'm not sure you can change).

Heres the flash one.

I don't see any reason that he'd use photoshop. I imagine Toon Boom or flash would suffice. Since Adobe bought flash, the entire CS suite has a similar feel to it. Which means that a lot of photoshops brush control has merged into other applications, including flash.
