This is a function library provides a more comprehensive command set for string related functions. This is meant as a supplement to the standard text functions of DBPro and Matrix1 Utility Plug-ins.

The following commands sets included in this plug-in
● Character checking functions
● File path functions
● Other useful string functions
● Regular Expressions

Here is the command list. 30 Commands total

Change Log:

This download contains keywords and full documentation. Also I am open to any suggestions for additional functions to add to this plug-in. If you need any help feel free to ask.

Nice. Any chance you could describe what the functions do? Just some simple examples maybe?

Thanks! I downloaded but didn't look yet.

I just thought you might get more downloads if people saw something they needed at a glance before downloading.

That's some clever stuff right there, now can you get it to put apostrophes in the right place they confuse the heck out of me!

That would be difficult to say the least, since that would need a advanced algorithm to determine whether the word should have a apostrophe or not. Its beyond the scope of the plug-in to include a command like that.

hey there.. your plugin is very impressive I may say! I will defiantly use it.. but try to make it more advanced.. add a command that checks
1) if the string is a web site
2) if it's an IP Adress
3) if the email string is legal Adress
4) also it will be good if you add commands like sepperating a string into a word list and so on =)

@Resourceful,

Thanks, I hope you find it useful in your projects.

@Sergey K,

1,2: I'll add those, as I was planning a string formatting system for the next update.

3: Though I could make a command to check the string format if it is a email address, I don't think I would be able to check if it is a legal address. As that would have to make some kind of internet connection. Though, I might be able to do this if I add more internet related commands that require a internet connection in the future.

4: Sounds good, I'll add that to next update.

Thank you for your suggestions.

no.. see. about the email form. all you have to check is XX@YY.COM or so.. this is the form I was talking about. so you will have the @ and the dot at the right places if the string

Oh, I thought you meant that you wanted to check the string if the email address in the string was a existing email account.

So yeah, I will be able to add a command to check for that then.

I finally had some time for the past few weeks to work on this again, and the third iteration of this is done now. Download is at the top. One of the main features of this new update is regular expressions.

The change log is listed here.
