but i know what you mean, over using items in a game can be a killer, but what can look good is to have blood running down the wall, or dripping from the ceiling with the sound of plopping/dripping blood on the floor,
That will give better effect, and you don't have to over use it, as you can have so many variations that would not show to much of the same.
And so when killing a character, set your charcater destroy script to destroyandactivate, and enter the name of the entity into the (if Used) slot and then set your Entity not to spawn at start.
and so after you have had a good killing sprei there will be nice gooy dripping blood from the entity that you have made.
This method is only good for where the chrarcter stays in the same spot.
But realy if you put one blood animated blood infront of a character by one square, then majority of the time you will be killing it in and around by the blood entity,
and so i would not use on large rooms, as Wolf hase mentioend to much is silly!
But in those nice spooky corridors it should work fine
